What an incredible month of work, love + COMMUNITY at Community Impact. 💙

These numbers are worth celebrating, but they don’t begin to show the amount of work, generosity, and love that happens here month after month.

Behind every meal served, every pound of food rescued, every piece of clothing shared, and every family welcomed are people who continue to show up.

Our volunteers who give their time. Our donors who give so generously. Our community partners who continue to support this mission. The people who stock shelves, prepare meals, sort clothing, unload food, clean up, welcome new faces, and do the countless little things that make all of this possible.

Thank you. Truly!

This work takes a lot of hands, a lot of hours, and a whole lot of heart. We are so grateful for every person who continues to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors.

August was another beautiful reminder of what can happen when we simply keep showing up, loving people well, and taking care of our little corner of the world.

Here’s to carrying that love into September.

Say hello to Pastor Phil! 👋

We are excited to officially welcome Pastor Phil to Three Rivers First United Methodist Church!

Fun fact: Pastor Phil is actually the son of a minister, but becoming a pastor wasn’t always part of his plan. It wasn’t until seminary that he discovered he could follow his own path into ministry without having to follow exactly in his father’s footsteps.

One thing that already has him excited about Three Rivers is YOU! He loves seeing how many people in our church believe that our faith goes beyond Sunday morning and into the way we serve and care for our community.

And when Pastor Phil isn’t at church, you might find him walking, biking or even kayaking. He once walked five miles to church and encountered a bear along the way!

He also loves experiencing the world through movies, food and music. Some current favorites include Japanese and Iranian movies, Middle Eastern and Indian food, and classical and bluegrass music.

We are so excited for this new chapter and all that Pastor Phil will bring to our church and community.

At Three Rivers First United Methodist Church & Community Impact Pantry, we believe ministry happens in the everyday moments: sharing a meal, filling a grocery bag, helping someone find clothing, or simply reminding a neighbor that they are not alone.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and community partner who makes this ministry possible. Together, we're living out the love of Christ, one meal, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time.

Here's what that looked like in June:
• 9,718 pounds of rescued food distributed
• 463 families served
• 1,511 neighbors cared for
• 66 first-time guests welcomed through Community Impact
• 139 people visited our Clothing Room
• 200+ clothing items shared with those in need
• 624 meals served during our weekly Sunday Community Meal

In a world that sometimes feels disconnected, what if holiness meant how we show up for each other?

John Wesley once reminded us, “There is no holiness but social holiness.” It’s not just about our personal faith, it’s about how that faith moves outward into our actions, relationships, and community.

At TRF UMC we believe this ♥️

Every Sunday after worship, we open our doors wide for a free community meal from noon to 2 p.m.

All are welcome. No questions, no requirements, just a seat at the table.

And the love doesn’t stop there. On Mondays and Fridays, through our Community Impact pantry, we offer food distribution for those in need.

These are the moments where faith meets real-world action, where we become the hands and feet of Christ.

So, as people of the church, how can we root ourselves even deeper in love and connection?

How can we embrace not just the comfort of our roots, but the call to grow together, outward, in how we treat one another?

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as we continue the Rooted series.

Together, let’s be the church we hope to see in the world.

You can now give online securely and easily right through the Giving tab on our website.

One of the ways you can make a direct impact is by choosing the Community Impact fund. These gifts help support our free community meals, community pantry, clothing closet, and other resources that allow us to serve and love our community.

What a beautiful morning with South Michigan Food Bank & Meridian celebrating our Red Ribbon Cutting for phase 1 of our community food bank. Our mission is simple - it’s to help our neighbors thrive by creating more equitable and reliable access to nutritious and fresh food in a welcoming, caring, and safe environment. We cant wait for what’s to come!
