JOHN'S IS A MEMBER OF THE ELCA (EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF AMERICA)

Since 1902, St. john's has provided for the spiritual needs of Thorndale TX, and surrounding areas. John's Lutheran is named after St. John the Apostle, the son of Zebedee and Salome. He was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus; called to be an Apostle by our Lord in the first year of His public ministry. He is considered the

same person as John the Evangelist, John of Patmos and the Beloved Disciple. John, along with Peter and James, were the only witnesses of the raising of Daughter of Jairus, and the closest witnesses to the Agony in Gethsemane.
