Yesterday morning we looked at Naomi’s story in Ruth and were reminded of a truth we need to carry with us into this week:

Don’t call it over yet!

Naomi came home looking at what she had lost. She had buried her husband and her sons, and from where she stood, the story looked finished. But Ruth 1:22 quietly tells us something Naomi could not yet see:

“…and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.”

She saw emptiness. God was already preparing a harvest.

That is worth remembering on a Monday morning. Never pronounce a final verdict over something God is still working on. What looks empty today may already contain the beginning of what God intends to do tomorrow.

So here’s a question for you: Is there something in your life you’ve been tempted to call “over” that you need to place back into God’s hands?

Today, resist the temptation to judge the whole story by the chapter you’re presently living. Pray over it. Trust God with it. Keep walking faithfully.

You may see a graveyard. God may already see a genealogy.
