**Our Church-Wide Study: This Week's Readings 📖**

Where does our hope come from when life gets difficult? And what does it mean to live with the promise of eternity in front of us?

This week in "Profoundly Christian, Distinctly Methodist", we're looking at our great hope as Christians.. the promise of resurrection, eternal life, and the day Jesus will make all things new.

A tiny bit of green pushing through the dirt doesn’t look like much.

But it’s a sign that something is happening beneath the surface.

Something is growing.
Something is coming.
And sometimes, that’s what hope looks like.

This Sunday at Thomson First Methodist, we’re continuing our church wide series Profoundly Christian, Distinctly Methodist as we talk about the future hope we have as Christians.

Whatever your worship style, there’s a place for you:

This is what discipleship looks like.

- Sometimes it looks like a Bible open on a table.
- Sometimes it looks like a book being passed around.
- And sometimes it looks like showing up at Chick-fil-A at 6:30 in the morning because you told your friends you would. 😂

*Our high school guys meet Tuesday mornings for D-group devotionals, honest conversations, challenges, encouragement, and accountability.

*Our high school ladies gather for their book study throughout the semester, diving into a book together while building friendships, opening their Bibles, and growing in their faith.

All our students are invited out most Thursday mornings at 6:50am for a full breakfast cooked by some fantastic men, a short time of prayer and connection to start the day right. Plus rides to school for those who can't drive.

Different groups. Different conversations. Different personalities.

But the same goal:

"Know Jesus. Follow Jesus. Make Jesus known."

And honestly, some of the coolest parts of ministry aren’t always what happens on a stage or in a Sunday service.
Sometimes it’s what happens around a table when nobody else is watching.

We’re thankful for what God is doing in these students.

“You don’t go to church. You are the church.”

That’s an easy line to say—but it’s a pretty big idea when you stop and think about it.

The church isn’t just a building. It’s not simply an organization. Scripture describes the church as a living body, made up of many people with different gifts and different roles, all belonging to one another through Christ.

In this week’s message, Pastor Steve Dodson digs into what that means for us as the church.

Because if we really are the body of Christ, then we don’t just show up to church. We have a part to play.

We’re not just reading a book together, we’re learning what it means to be the Church together.

Our church-wide study, Profoundly Christian, Distinctly Methodist, continues this week as we keep digging into what we believe, why we believe it, and what those beliefs actually look like when we live them out.

The firetruck looked ready to go...
But it wouldn’t start.

And honestly… how many believers are like that?

We can have the right appearance, the right words, even the right routines.. but if we aren’t allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us, we’ll never live the life God designed us to live.
