Tomorrow, our nation will celebrate Labor Day. It’s a holiday that goes back to the late 1800s when Americans began setting aside a day to recognize the labor contribution of hardworking men and women that helped build this country. I have always believed there is something honorable about honest labor. Whether a person works with his or her hands, manages a business, raises a family, teaches, builds, serves, creates, or does any number of things that contribute to the lives of others, there is dignity in working hard and doing it faithfully. There is, however, a labor that is even more important; our labor for the LORD. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” I love that promise because nothing done for the LORD is wasted. Every time we obey Him and give ourselves to the work He has called us to do, God highly regards it even when nobody else sees it. That is why we have to make sure we are laboring for the things that actually matter. We can spend tremendous amounts of energy building things that will eventually disappear, but when we invest our lives in the things of God, we are laboring for something with eternal value. As we enjoy Labor Day tomorrow and recognize the value of honest work, let us never forget the wonderful work that God continues to do in our lives and the privilege He has given us to labor for Him. May God richly bless you as you experience the benefit of the work He has done in you and as you continue faithfully in the work He has called you to do!

Good afternoon, today we beginning chapter 2 of the book of Ezekiel verses 1 - chapter 3 verse 4

This world is topsy-turvy to say the least. We must keep our brothers and sisters in prayer around the world. We need to keep our leaders here in America in prayer. We are just a few months away from a very important election cycle, the midterms. We must pray, and participate in these elections and then may the awards will be done.

So now we are on to Ezekiel chapter 2 verses 1 - chapter 3 verse 4

““Son of man (Son of Adam), He said to me, “stand up on your feet and I will speak to you. And the Spirit came into me as He spoke to me and set me on my feet, and I heard the One speaking to me. “Son of man, He said to me, “I am sending you to the Israelites (God prevails), to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me. To this very day they and their fathers have rebelled against Me And the sons are hard of face and strong of heart; to them I am sending you, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord YHWH.’As for them, whether they listen or refuse [to listen]—for they are a rebellious house—yet they will know and be fully aware of the fact that there has been a prophet among them. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or of their words; do not be afraid—if briers and thorns are with you and among you scorpions are sitting!—Of their words, and do not be afraid of their faces, and do not be dismayed, for they area rebellious house. But speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious. Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out toward me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it. And He spread it before me, and it was written on the front and on the back, and written on it were [words of] lamentation (funeral songs) and mourning and woe. And He said to me, “Son of man, what you find, you must eat. Eat this scroll, and go speak to the house of Israel!”And I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat this scroll. And He said to me: “Son of man, feed your belly and fill your bowels with this scroll that I am giving to you!” And I ate, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. Then He said to me, “Son of man, go now to the house of Israel (he wrestles with God) and speak My words to them.”

I think that the Lord wants us to understand that the house of Israel is rebellious. Don’t you think.

Ezekiel gets the message directly from God. The vision in chapter 1 makes that abundantly clear. The vision also knocks him to his feet just like John in revelation chapter 1.

Hebrews chapter 12 verse 6 says
“For the Lord disciplines whom He loves, and He scourges every son whom He receives.””

Proverbs chapter 3 verse 11 says
“My son, do not reject or take lightly the discipline of the LORD [learn from your mistakes and the testing that comes from His correction through discipline]; Nor despise His rebuke,”
They are rebellious so the Lord as it was stated in Hebrews He is disciplining them, not forsaken the house of Israel.
God is faithful to His word.

If the Lord is through with them, then He most definitely he would be through with us. But thank the Lord He is faithful to His Word. Genesis chapter 12 and Genesis chapter 15 to name a few.
Amen?

Good afternoon, today we continue our walk through the book of Ezekiel chapter 1 verses 15 - 28.
What we see here is mind blowing for sure. But Ezekiel has the awesome responsibility to write this all down for us.

Now on to Ezekiel chapter 1 verses 15 - 28
“When I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like an eye of beryl, and a single likeness unto four of them; and their appearance and of their workings was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. Upon their four sides, in their going they went, and they did not turn aside in their going Regarding their rims: they were so high that they were awesome and dreadful, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes all around. And in the going of the living creatures, the wheels went beside them; and in the lifting up of the living creatures from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. Wherever the spirit went, the beings went in that direction. And the wheels rose along with them; for the spirit or life of the living beings was in the wheels In their going they go, and in their standing they stand; and in their being lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels Now stretched over the heads of the living beings there was something like an expanse, looking like the terrible and awesome shimmer of icy crystal Under the expanse their wings were stretched outstraight, one toward another. Every living being had two wings which covered its body on one side and on the other side. As they moved, I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of great [rushing] waters, like the voice of the Almighty, the sound of tumult like the noise of an army camp. Whenever they came to a stop, they lowered their wings. And there was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads; whenever they stopped, they lowered their wings. And from above the firmament that was over their heads, in appearance like a stone of sapphire, was the likeness of a throne, and on the likeness of the throne was a likeness like the appearance of a man over it from above Now upward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something like glowing metal that looked like it was filled with fire all around it; and downward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something like fire; and there was a brightness and a remarkable radiance [like a halo] around Him. As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory and brilliance of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell face downward and I heard a voice of One speaking”

Wow! And wow again and again.
If you ever wanted to know the glory that our savior Jesus Christ left in order to save us from our sins. Well we have a vision of that right here in Ezekiel chapter 1 verses 15 through 28. I have no words.
So just let this wash over you and I as we contemplate the great sacrifice Jesus, yahweh, The second person in the Trinity, the son of God truly left just to save our souls so we can be with him for all eternity.
Praise be to Jesus Christ!
