Jesse Crooks Ministries

Jesse Crooks Ministries Primarily a Revival Ministry, Jesse is also available for one day speaking engagements, prayer break (God, in His infinite wisdom, had other plans).

The usual joys of birth were swept away when Jesse Crooks was born and the doctor announced a difficult delivery. Mother and child were in danger; if the child lived he would never walk, talk, or care for himself. After two unsuccessful tries at first grade, Jesse stayed at home. Jesse didn't want to return to 'school because everyone laughed at his talk and walk. However, Jesse decided he could l

augh with them. It was time to get an education. In his senior year, Jesse was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Most Popular Boy." He graduated with honors. During the summer following high school, Jesse was called to preach during a Sunday night worship service. It took some convincing to persuade the college dean to accept him as a student, to say nothing of pre-ministry! But with a lot of help, Jesse "crammed four years of college into just five." During his junior year, a local church called him as an associate minister to work with youth. During seminary days in New Orleans, Jesse met and married Linda. They ministered together in the ghettos. Jesse and Linda were appointed by the Home Mission Board to the Coliseum Place Mission and then to the Rachel Sims Mission in New Orleans following graduation from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1974 they were called to serve as childcare workers with the Baptist Children's Home of N.C. After six years, personal family needs led them into secular work, a move into their first "real" home and pursuit of Jesse's call to revive the church.

My Pastor used this text for his Easter message. He did a much better sermon than mine. You can check out his sermon on Unity Baptist Fellowship in Sophia after you read mine.

Hearts a Fire
(Luke 24:13-35)

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them, what manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. 22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulcher; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulcher and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he zvanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking bread.
Introduction:
The disciples knew that Jesus was the promised King of Israel. Jesus is the root of Jesse—the Messiah from David’s line—who rules over Jewish and non-Jewish people. (Luke 19:11 Isa 11:10) They were expecting Him to set up a kingdom and free them from Roman bo***ge, although Jesus had taught them that His Kingdom was not of this world. “But first, He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. (Mark 8:31) So, this road these two were walking after Jesus' death was a road of disappointment All of us have our Emmaus roads. People disappoint us, circumstances disappoint us. Sometimes it seems that God has disappointed us like He did these disciples, disappoints us when He does not act in the way or in the time, we expect Him to. This causes our enthusiasm for God and the gospel to burn low. Some things that happened on their journey rekindled their fire for Jesus and telling the Good News.
1. Jesus drew near to them as they walked.
Hebrews promises that He Himself (Jesus) has said, “I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. (HEBREWS 13:5 B SEE ALSO PS. 37: 25) However, the text says, but their eyes were holden that they should not know him. (Luke 24:16)
Commentaries offer several reasons why they did not recognize Jesus. Considering their sadness (v. 17), these followers clearly did not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead. The empty tomb and the report of the angels’ announcement were not enough to convince them. I feel that Jesus is often near, and we fail to recognize His presence. We simply do not believe His promise.
2. He opened the Scripture to them.
I have people say they can’t understand The Bible. I don’t believe anyone can unless they invite Jesus into their heart and have Him open the scripture. Dr. Adrin Rogers said,” One of the prayers that every servant of God ought to pray Blessed are You, O Lord teach me thy statutes. (Psalm 119:12) And I am thy servant; Give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies.” (Psalm 119:34)
I love to hear good preachers or teachers explain The Bible. But in times like these, every Christian needs to get alone with Jesus and let him open the scriptures. My sweet wife has the habit of doing this every morning before she begins her day. Jesus Christ is the best expositor of scripture, particularly the scriptures concerning himself.
3. They ask Jesus to spend time with them because the day was far spent.
I turned 88 in March. Likely my days on Earth are almost done. Whether I am called home tomorrow or blessed with many more years, I want Jesus to stay close. We all need to be close to Him these days; I don’t remember a time such as this. If there was ever a time we needed Jesus, it’s now. If we are to be effective in His ministry and happy in our life, we must have Him to walk with us daily.
4. Jesus rekindled their fire.
The text says, 32And they said one to another, was not our heart burning within us, while he spoke to us in the way, while he opened the scripture to us? 33And they rose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered, and them that were with them, 34saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
Conclusion.
The best conclusion to this message is found in this old song. “When you feel a little prayer wheel turning (And you) will know a little fire is burning (You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right. I may have doubts and fears; my eyes are filled with tears. But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night. I go to him in prayer; He knows my every care, and just a little talk with my Jesus makes it right. (Lyrics by Cleavant Derricks) If the recent celebration of His resurrection did not rekindle your fire to share the “good news of the Gospel. Your wood is wet.

As I conclude this message, I would like to know if you know this Jesus who talked to these disciples and explained everything to them, they needed to know who he was. They came to understand who Jesus was. Let me share with you how to open your life to Christ. All you have to do is act. Let me break it down for you this way.

A – Acknowledge. First, we need to admit to Jesus that we are a sinner. We are all sinners, and that sin separates us from God. ...
C – Confess. Second, we need to confess our sins. ...
T – Trust. The third is to trust in Jesus by faith to save us.
If you act, Jesus will become your Lord and Savior. After that, you need to find a church and a pastor to help you grow in this new relationship with Christ. If you find that Church and tell that pastor about your relationship with Christ, they will help you grow in your new walk with Christ.

"It is finished"
(John 19:30b)
Introduction:

This was Jesus’ sixth saying from the cross. The Greek for this phrase consisted of only one word. I don't remember much of my Greek, but those who do, tell me the word is "Tetelestrai."(ten letters) It's finished, it means finished, forever done.

My good friend, Dr. Dennis Love, has an excellent sermon on this text. He makes three interesting points about this word. According to Dennis "Tetelestrai was.

1. It was a familiar word.

I had never heard the word until he used it. I’m sure I can’t even pronounce it. In that day it was a common word used by common people every day. Shepherds and priests used it when they found a perfect sheep, ready for sacrifice; and Christ died as the perfect Lamb of God. It was used by servants when they had completed a task assigned to them. They reported to their master "tetelestrai" It was used in business. When a debt had been paid in full the receipt read "tetelestrai", it's finished.

Some people use what I call simple words. Some preachers and teachers use such big words you need a dictionary to understand what they are saying. When Jesus spoke to fishermen, he used terms that they understood. When He spoke to shepherds, He used their language.

Some people say they can’t understand the Bible. May I suggest you get a Bible with words of Jesus printed in red and just read the words in red. Jesus always used words common folks could understand. I’m glad that when Jesus spoke from the cross concerning our salvation, He spoke in a word that I could understand.

2. Spoken by a faithful servant.

Jesus said, “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.” (John 17:4) Dr. Wiersbe says, "He came to do the Father's will and He did it. From the beginning of His life on earth to the day He returned to the Father, Jesus was faithful to do what the Father commanded.

Dr. Love talks about an old fellow, Leo Fortier in Quebec, Canada who rang the bell at his church every Sunday morning for fifty-two years without missing a Sunday. That was over 2,704 times Leo rang that bell, without missing a time. I would say that Leo was faithful. I don't know if Leo could do anything else, but apparently, he felt like he was called to ring that bell, and he was faithful.

Jesus was faithful even until His death on the cross. Leo was faithful to ring that bell. I believe that Jesus requires you and me to be faithful to do whatever task He has called us to do. Are you faithful to your calling whether great or small?

3. Concerning a finished Work

I have a lot of incomplete sermons on my laptop if I never finish those sermons the world will never know the difference. If Jesus had not finished His work on the Cross, the world would be hopelessly lost in our sin.

Tetelestai was a familiar word spoken by a faithful servant concerning a finished work. I read of an eccentric evangelist named Alexander Wooten who was approached by a rather flippant young man asking, “what must I do to be saved?” "You can't do anything," Wooten replied, "It's too late! You can't do anything!" The man became alarmed and said "No! no! What must I do to be saved?" And Wooten replied again "It's too late! It's already done!" The marvelous work required for our salvation was finished that day on the cross.

“There's a line that has been drawn through the ages. On that line stood an old rugged cross. On the cross the battle was raging for the gain of man's soul or its loss. On one side were the forces of evil, all demons and all the devils of hell, on the other side the angels of glory, and they met on Golgotha's hill. The earth shakes with the force of the conflict, and the sun refuses to shine. For there hangs God’s son in the balance and then through the darkness He cries, It is finished, the battle is over.” (by Bill & Gloria Gaither) Tetelestai, it was not a cry of despair or hopelessness, but a shout of victory. Salvation's work was finished, done.

Conc1usion.

Salvation isn’t something you can earn, buy, or get just because grandmother had it. Everything necessary for our salvation has already been accomplished for our salvation on the Cross. We just need to believe and accept it. It’s finished, done. Thank God!! Happy Resurrection Day!

The rich young ruler
Luke 18:18-23
18 A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.”
21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”
22 When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor,
and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.
Introduction.
This conversation between Jesus and this rich young ruler is recorded in all three of the synoptic gospels. Mark says,” Jesus looking upon him loved him. (Mk 10:21). Studying the text, I find at least three qualities that are loveable about him,
1 He came at the right time.
The scripture says,” Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.” (Eccle.12:1K. J)
18 out of twenty people that come to Christ do so before they are 25 years of age. At age twenty-five, 1 in 10,000 will become Christians. At age thirty-five, 1 in 50,000 will become Christians. At age forty-five, 1in 200,000 will become Christians. At age fifty-five, 1 in 300,000 will become Christian.
What do these numbers say about the importance of investing in the spiritual education of your children? Many parents say they do not want to force their Faith on their children, but if you don’t impart Faith to them at a young age, they may not embrace any faith at all.
Please note I’m not saying that older people can’t or don’t come to Christ. Whosoever will, may come!! My wife’s Granddaddy didn’t come to Christ until age sixty-five. Listen, it’s never too late to pray for our lost family and friends. Jesus said,” for nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
I am glad I came to know Him at a young age. I have enjoyed the abundant life (John 10:10b) for most of my 87 years.
2. He came to the right place.
Rev. Jimmy Kiker said,” there are over 1000 cults listed on Google.” He went on to compare this to what Jesus said,” Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. 14For narrow is the gate, and strait is the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) He also reference Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy, I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 7Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am the door; by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. (John 10:7-10) Because of Jesus’ teaching, Matthew says that many of His disciples ceased to follow Him. Then He turned to the twelve and said will you also go away?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.” (John 6:68) May I go on record to all? I know no other way to have eternal life except through this door, Jesus!!
3. He asks the right question.
What shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Not a better question could be asked, not more gravely. It was rare for one of his age and quality to appear so much in care about another world. The rich are apt to think it below them to make such an inquiry as this, and young people think I will make this decision at a later date.
An appropriate question was asked in the Old Testament “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14) this ruler used different words, but I think his question was the same. I believe that all people have these thoughts. Solomon says, “He has also set eternity in their heart” Every human soul has a God-given awareness that there’s “something more” than this world/James adds this, “What is your life? For ye are v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” (James 4:14b)

4. He refused the right answer
The only instance of someone declining to follow Jesus after a direct conversation with Him is this rich young man. Jesus sees the young man’s attachment to his possessions as a hindrance to Faith. He commands the man to rid himself of whatever prevents him from making a total commitment to the kingdom of heaven.
Zacchaeus’ willingness to give to the poor was proof that his conversion was genuine. It was the fruit, not the condition, of his salvation. (John MacArthur Luke 19:8)
Conclusion:
Is there something keeping you from following Jesus and having enteral life? The rich young ruler let his money keep from committing to following Jesus.
The Bible says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) The Bible also says, “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9–10)
If you do not know Christ, the Holy Spirit may be speaking to your heart right now. Will you pray and acknowledge Christ as your Lord? Then you need to share it with someone. Share it with your closes friend and your family. If they seem surprised, don’t let that discourage you. You see, they could be making the same mistake this young man made that we just read about. You also will need to find a good Bible Believing Church and share with the pastor about your recent decision. That Pastor and Church will help you grow and mature as a Christian and grow in your newfound Faith.

The Far Country
(Luke 15: 11-24)
11 And He said, “A man had two sons.
12 “The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So, he divide his wealth
between them.
13 “And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country
There he squandered his estate with loose living.
14 “Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished.
15 “So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 “And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything
To him.
17 “But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I here
dying with hunger!
18‘I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight.
19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.” ’
20 “So, he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him
ran and embraced him and kissed him.
21 “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy
22 “But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and
sandals on his feet.
23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.
24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.

Introduction.

This text is one of the most familiar in the New Testament. Every preacher, I suppose, has a sermon on "The prodiga1 son. Well, I have one too. In keeping with our modern soap operas etc., I have divided mine into episodes. I believe the prodigal was a wayward (backslidden) Christian. Jesus called him a son. John said, "as many as received him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God." (Jn 1:12 K.J.V) I want to look at these verses in that way.

1. The Rebellion (episode 1)

As scene I opens, there's a rebellion going on. A young son in total rebellion against his father walks in and, I think, rudely demands his share of the family wealth. Give me what's mine, he demands, and a loving father gives him one half of all he has. One third would have been his rightful share. All of us are familiar with this type of rebellion. We live in a day when many of our young people are rebelling, not only against their parents but also against all authority. Not all I remind you, but many. There are still some young people who respect authority and love the Lord; they just don't make the news.

This rebellion, however, is representative of another type of rebellion. It's the rebellion of God's children against God's lordship and authority Many Christians have taken what they think is theirs and have moved out on God. I believe Jesus used this text to illustrate this point. It happens most often in times of prosperity. They don't dare say it with their lips but say it by their actions. May I give you some signs of rebellion (1) A shifting of our dependence from God to ourselves (2) A relaxing of our moral and ethical standards, everybody does it attitude (3) A lack of church attendance, and private prayer or Bible study. (4) Letting other wants or needs come before The Lord's tithe.

It's as if we have said to our Heavenly Father, give me what's mine, I'll go my own way and do my own thing. I no longer want Your Lordship or authority. I no longer need Your blessing or guidance. Listen, we may stay in the same house with the same mate. We may go to the same job, attend the same Church, and yet be moved in a different direction if we are in a state of rebellion. America has moved out on God. We've decided that we don't need Him anymore. The A.C.L.U. decided we don't need Him in our schools, our government, or any part of our public life. Look what a mess!

2. The Party (episode 2)

The scripture says, "not many days after the son gathered all together, and took his journey to a far country, and there (he) wasted his substance in riotous 1iving." [Verse 13] As the second episode opens, there's a party going on. This old boy knew how to throw a party. He had the funds to do it. He had the very best of everything, wine, women, and song. The party didn’t last long. You see, the Bible says it won't. The Bible says, "The pleasures of sin (are only) for a season." [Hebrews 11:25b K.J.] The funds ran out, and there was no more.

The Far Country is a place of limited blessing. Listen, folks, nowhere in our text is there any indication that this father sent his rebellious son any additional funds, it just didn't happen. There’s a lesson here. When we move away from that close relationship and back into a life of sin, the blessings stop. Our joy goes; our peace disappears; our fellowship with Him is lost. We don't even enjoy a good worship service like we once did. Our family relationships become strained; our money doesn't seem to go around anymore. We have found we can live a lot better on 90% of our income than' we can on 100%. If you don't believe it try it.
The Bible says he ended up in the pigpen feeding the pigs. (Luke 15: 15b) Folks," sin and rebellion will take you further than you want to go. Sin will keep you longer than you want to stay. Sin will cost you far more than you want to pay."
The far Country is a place of lasting hunger. (Luke 15:16) Listen, the scripture says he was hungry. It means that he wanted to fill his belly with the husks that pigs eat. I don't know if he ate the pig's food or not, the pods, which he fed to the pigs, were not compatible with the human digestive system. If he did, it didn't satisfy his appetite. He was accustomed to steak and lamb chops at his Father's table. Listen, Christians, when we were saved, the Lord gave us an appetite for the things of God that the world cannot satisfy. One reason a lot of Christians are so miserab1e, they are trying to fill their spiritual hunger with the food of this world, and it won't work. We need to understand that nothing the world has to offer will fill our need for fellowship with our Lord or our need to eat at the Father's table. Ask those who have tried it.

Not only is the Far Country a place of limited blessing and constant hunger. It's a place of lost influence. Can't you just see this boy down there in the pig pen telling everybody he was the son of a wealthy landowner? Do you think they believed him? Sure, you are, keep on dreaming. Listen, we go out there and wallow in the things of the world all week, and then on Sunday, put our Bible under your arm tell people that we belong to the King. Folks, it's
not working! The reason the Church is losing its influence on the world is because so many of us live like the world. They'll laugh in our face if our walk doesn't match our talk.

3. The Homecoming (Episode 3)

My favorite part of this text is the last scene, "the homecoming." The scripture says, "He came to himself." Christians must be out their mind to rebel. I believe that there were three steps to his homecoming (1) He realized where he was and what he had done. (2) He repented of his sins. (3) He came offering himself as a servant to his Father. Listen, the good news of this text is that we can come home. No matter how far we have wandered out in sin, our Father stands on the portals of heaven and waits for His wayward children to come home.

I want to ask you a question. Where are you? Revelation says of the Church at Ephesus you have left their first love. (Rev 2:4b) Have you left your first love? Are things between you and the Lord different than they once were? Farmer Brown and his wife were riding down the road in their pickup truck. He was driving, and she was sitting next to the right door. This young couple passed them in one of these little sports cars. You know the kind takes two to drive. His wife turned to farmer Brown and said, "John remember when we used to ride that way?" The farmer replied, "I haven't moved." Listen, if things are different, it's because we've moved, not God.

Conclusion:

Folks, I hope that this sermon doesn't apply to anybody reading this; in reality, it probably does. Some of you are living in a Far Country of Rebellion. We are missing God's blessings, and because of the way we are living, we have little or no influence on the lost world around us. Listen, folks, we are trying to' fill your soul with food from the wor1d's pigpens, and it won't satisfy. It's time we came home. Real revival will cost something. It will cause us to admit we have been rebellious and need to get in the right relationship with Him.

Note: I wonder who did the prodigals work while he was wandering around in the far Country? “Do you not say, there are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. (Jn 4:35 N.K.J)

5 Ways God Has Displayed His Love for You
By Lizzy Long

February 13, 2023
Share:
Valentine’s Day is a holiday synonymous with love.

But ironically, it can instead be a reminder of loneliness, heartbreak, strained relationships, or feeling unwanted.

While this Valentine’s Day may not be what you expected or hoped for, there is Someone who loves and cares for you deeply.

If you’re feeling down, consider these five ways the Heavenly Father loves you.

1. God formed you in your mother’s womb:
God gave you life. You are not here by mistake. He has known you since before you were born.

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb."

—Psalm 139:13, ESV

2. God has a purpose for your life.
Life can be confusing and difficult at times, but God sees every moment. He knows every tear you cry, each mistake you make, and every moment of joy you experience.

He created you for a reason and if you surrender your life to Him in repentance and faith, He promises to work everything together for your good—to accomplish His perfect plan.

“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”

—Psalm 138:8, ESV

3. God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins.
God wants a relationship with you. But when you do things that are displeasing to Him—sin—it separates you from a holy God. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. Jesus, who was perfectly both God and man, closed that gap of separation by dying on a cross for your sins.

This means you can experience forgiveness and a restored relationship with your Heavenly Father.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

—Romans 5:8, ESV

4. God offers you both discipline and grace.
God wants us to have an abundant life, so He teaches us His truth through His Word. When we stumble, there are consequences for our actions.

Yet, God also offers His grace, meaning that when we are remorseful, we get His unending love and forgiveness.

“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

—Hebrews 12:11, ESV

5. God is preparing a place for you in Heaven.
He wants us to be with Him.

That’s why His Son, Jesus Christ, promised that all who repent of their sins and believe in Him will one day be reunited with God. In Heaven, there will be no more pain, sorrow, or death, just joy and love from the Heavenly Father.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
