Journeying Together Soul care for women

I’m scrolling, checking out after a long week, and I come across these two posts back-to-back on my feed. I can’t help but smile in amusement. Two very different expressions of worship, same Jesus. :)

It has been such a gift to watch Laura grow and develop as an artist over the past couple of years. Our family has been deeply touched by both her music and her heart.

From a house show around our fire pit a couple of years ago to the recent opportunity to lead worship alongside her at Gate City Vineyard, we can say firsthand: Laura is the real deal.

We’re so excited to see her bring this beautiful project to life. If you’d like to support her, check out her Kickstarter for Sparrow, her new EP: Repost App • Laura Russell It’s official! I am releasing a 4 song EP called “Sparrow”, produced by Ethan Nathaniel and the Kickstarter campaign to make it happen is officially live!

Be a part of this dream becoming reality.

I am deeply grateful for the gift of this weekend. With the help of an amazing team of people, we were able to offer three opportunities for folks to experience God in the midst of grief—two half-day retreats at Pennybyrn and one full-day retreat at St. Francis Springs.

Thank you, Elisa, for sharing so beautifully, honestly, and poignantly from your own experiences of trauma, grief, and hope.

Thank you to the Pennybyrn staff and residents who showed up so wholeheartedly and were willing to be part of this experience.

Thank you, St. Francis Springs, for providing such a beautiful and sacred setting for reflection, rest, and connection with God and one another.

Thank you to the spiritual directors who came alongside us and held sacred space for those who needed to process what was stirring in the company of a safe and compassionate companion.

And thank you, Jim and Rachel Van Eerden, for welcoming us to Narnia House—the perfect place for restoration and renewal at the end of a very full weekend.

My heart is full. I’m reminded again that grief and hope are not opposites. Somehow, they can exist side by side—and when we are willing to make space for both, we may discover that God is already there, meeting us in the midst of it all.
