SANCTUARY RESTORATION UPDATE ❤️

What the enemy meant for disruption, God has used as an opportunity to show His faithfulness.

Following the flooding from Hurricane Eduardo, our sanctuary is still in the process of drying out and being restored. Today, on this Labor Day weekend, so many stepped up to cut drywall, move pews, clean, and help us move one step closer to restoration.

Thank you to everyone who has given your time, finances, prayers, and encouragement. Our church family, our community, and our Kingdom family have surrounded us in ways we will never forget.

Sunday morning, we worshiped together in our fellowship hall—and it was a beautiful reminder that the building may be damaged, but the Church is still standing!

We will keep worshiping.
We will keep serving.
We will keep moving forward.
And through it all, God gets the glory!

Thank you, Thicket, for showing up. We are so blessed by you! ❤️🙌

🙏 Our Little Church Could Use Your Help 🙏

As you know, our church sanctuary recently received significant water damage from the flooding caused by Edouard. The carpet was soaked, and we have damage to the wood on our stage, altar area, and other areas of the sanctuary.

We are a small church in a small community, and the cost of cleaning, repairing, and restoring our sanctuary will be a lot for our congregation to handle alone.

If God lays it upon your heart to help, we would be so grateful for donations of any amount, gift cards to home improvement stores, building or cleaning supplies, or other assistance that could help us restore our church.

We also welcome help from local businesses, contractors, churches, and members of our surrounding communities who may be able to donate materials, supplies, labor, or services.

Most importantly, please keep our church and congregation in your prayers as we work together to restore the place where we worship and fellowship.

No gift is too small. Every donation, every helping hand, every shared post, and every prayer means more to our little church family than you know. ❤️

If God lays it upon your heart to give, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless you for your kindness and generosity.

If you feel led to send a donation , I have included the information you will need below.

Psalm 46:1-3
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.”

On Tuesday night into Wednesday, due to training feeder bands of Edouard, over 20in of rain fell in about 10 hours in Thicket. This caused extreme flooding in many places. One of those places was right in front of Thicket Church of God. The water was flowing so fast towards the church, it began pushing water under the walls. Then, as vehicles would drive through the water, more water would get pushed into the building. This caused the entire sanctuary to flood. Several people immediately jumped into action trying to warn vehicles to slow down, bring sandbags to build a barrier so the water could no longer get pushed into the church, loan their generators, shop vacs, and fans. Then today several showed up with more fans, and wrenches in hand to move pews so that the carpet could be cleaned. A special THANK YOU to Sunbelt Rentals for donating the use of dehumidifiers, fans, and water extractors. There is still a lot of remediation that will need to be done but the process has begun. Please keep the church in your prayers. Thank you Saratoga VFD and ESD #7 for all of your assistance.
