SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT:
Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program — Now Accepting Applications for 2026
Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program. All eligible graduating seniors residing in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area are encouraged to apply.
Two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to graduating high school students who plan to attend Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. Applicants must be permanent residents of the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area and must be eligible for admission to the institution listed on their application. Scholarship funds will be awarded for full-time undergraduate enrollment at one of the qualifying institutions listed above.
This scholarship is a gift — not a loan — intended to help offset the increasing costs of tuition and related educational expenses. There are no restrictions on how the funds may be used.
Scholarship applications may be requested by emailing Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. at [email protected]. Completed applications may be submitted in person at 1309 Canal Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Thibodaux, LA 70301, or mailed to 257 Bocage Drive, Thibodaux, LA 70301.
All applications must be received no later than Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Eligible applicants will be entered into a live drawing on Facebook at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Applications are accepted without regard to race, creed, color, age, or national origin.
The Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program is funded through the personal contributions of Marshal Cooks and is dedicated to assisting deserving students in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area as they pursue higher education and career training opportunities.
