YOUTH FAITH FORMATION
Thank you to all of our parents and families who joined us for our Youth Faith Formation Parent Meeting on Monday, August 31st! We are grateful for your presence and for the important role you play in your child’s spiritual journey.
Our mission in Youth Faith Formation is to help our children and youth grow in Stewardship, Evangelization, Scripture, and a personal relationship with God, so that they may become mature, lifelong members of the Body of Christ.
For those who were unable to attend, here are a few important reminders:
• Our first class is Monday, September 14, from 6:00–7:15 p.m. All students will meet in church that night for an Opening Mass, and parents are invited to attend.
• Regular attendance is very important. If a student misses a class, the missed lesson must be completed at home, signed, and returned at the following class.
• Students should not arrive before 5:45 p.m. K–4th grade students will report to the Mauret Family Life Center, while 5th–11th grade students will report to Keller Hall. Pick-up is at 7:15 p.m. Please follow the one-way traffic pattern, entering on the Raceland side, as well as the directions of our Knights of Columbus monitors for everyone’s safety.
• Our first Youth Formation Mass will be on Sunday, September 20th at 10:00 am, hosted by our 10th and 11th grade students. We strongly encourage our families to make Sunday Mass an important part of their child’s faith formation.
• Two classes this year will include the diocesan-required Circle of Grace curriculum, which helps our children and youth understand personal safety, trusted adults, healthy choices, social media influences, prayer, and making good decisions. Please make every effort for your child to attend those scheduled classes.
• Please watch your email, parish bulletin, page, weekend Mass announcements, and occasional mentor texts for Faith Formation updates and reminders.
We are also excited about the opportunities available this year for our children, youth, and parents — including Children’s Liturgy, Youth Adoration, and our Parent Café nights, where parents can enjoy faith and fellowship while their children are in class. The first night the Cafe’ will be open is Monday, September 28th.
Thank you to our wonderful mentors, volunteers, Knights of Columbus, and everyone who has said “yes” to helping our young people grow closer to Christ. And thank you, parents, for partnering with us in this beautiful ministry!
May God bless our students, families, mentors, and volunteers as we begin a wonderful new year of growing together in faith!
