Tuesday in Holy Week.

This morning I am reminded. I am reminded of moments that have thoroughly altered lives. Changing the essence of entire beings.
I am reminded of the loneliness of a life lacking faith. I am reminded that death is inevitable. Amid all these thoughts, I am reminded of the strength that comes from leaning into the words I have read, that quiet still voice that is heard and felt when I have finally fallen to my knees and let go. When I quit running to other options of comfort, such as things, people and my own understanding. When those things fail and I am left with Jesus, alone, I am reminded of the power of our Lord and Savior.

Our church may empty today, but the Temple having been cleansed yesterday is full and Jesus was teaching His people. He was giving them instruction on His impending death; He was truth telling to those trying to make Him out to be a hypocrite. He knew what was coming and wanted to prepare his followers.
Everything He did was in love. Today I pray that we can follow in those footsteps. That we may be able to see our enemies and give them the grace that has been shown to us. Forgiveness and steadfastness to hold tight to the promise that our redeemer is with us always as a helper, sustainer, and comfort in mourning.
May God’s Peace cover you.

It’s Monday in Holy Week.

Jesus’ feet are anointed with a sweet smelling oil.

He cleanses the Temple.

While right now Friday may seem so far away, our Savior is already preparing his people for what is to come. He speaks, moves and is Love. Love for all people.

There is no greater love than that which we will come to know by week’s end.

Dear Heavenly Father we pray that you will guide us through the coming days. Helping us to fully understand the instruction being laid out before us. Soften our hearts so that we may forgive as your Son shows us is possible. Strengthen our minds so that we may stand in confident peace when we are confronted by those who desire to hurt your people. We pray for our mouths to speak the stories that teach us the way to You. Lord we thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our daily’s lives. We pray these things in your Son, Jesus Christ’s, precious name. Amen.
