It is with hearts deeply saddened, yet spirits firmly anchored in the sovereignty, faithfulness, and eternal promises of God, that we, the Truelight Tabernacle Holiness Church, Linden, Alabama; Truelight Tabernacle Holiness Evangelistic Ministries, Mobile, Alabama; and Ruach Prophetic Ministries/Tree of Life Worship Center, Theodore, Alabama, announce the earthly transition of our beloved Apostle, Pastor, Spiritual Father, and Kingdom Servant, Apostle Charles J. Hunter.
There are moments when words seem insufficient for the weight carried by the heart. This is such a moment.
We mourn the departure of a mighty man of God who faithfully stood in his divine assignment, proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, shepherded Godโs people, fathered sons and daughters in the faith, and poured his life into the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Yet even through our tears, our hope remains alive. We are saddened, but we are not without hope. We are grieving, but we are not without comfort. We feel the weight of this transition, but we are not without strength.
Our help comes from the Lord.
The same God Apostle Hunter preached about is the God upon whom we now depend. The same God he taught us to trust is the God in whom we now place our confidence. The same faith he demonstrated before us is the faith that must now sustain us.
Apostle Hunter was not merely a preacher behind a pulpit. He was a faithful husband, father and grandfather, a shepherd, spiritual father, teacher, intercessor, counselor, mentor, leader, and example of steadfast Kingdom service. He carried the Gospel with conviction, loved Godโs people sincerely, and served the Lord faithfully.
Though the voice we have known and loved is now silent in the earth, the sound of his ministry will continue to speak.
His prayers will speak. His teaching will speak. His impartation will speak. His sacrifices will speak. His spiritual sons and daughters will speak.
And the Kingdom legacy he leaves behind will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
A mantle may outlive the man who carried it, and a God-ordained legacy does not end at transition. We therefore honor Apostle Hunter not only by remembering what he accomplished, but by remaining faithful to the God, the Gospel, and the Kingdom work to which he devoted his life.
In this sacred and difficult hour, we ask the Body of Christ to surround the Love of his Life, Pastor Gladys Hunter, his children, his grandchildren, the Hunter family, our churches and ministries, our leadership, spiritual sons and daughters, and all whose lives have been touched by Apostle Hunter with fervent prayer.
We do not pretend that this moment is easy. Our hearts are broken, but our faith is not.
We will lean upon God. We will trust His wisdom. We will depend upon His strength. We will rest in His promises. And by His grace, we will continue forward.
Today, we thank God for the gift of Apostle Charles J. Hunter. We honor the legacy.
