Two thoughts from Week 3 in our series Missing Peace.

Just because God feels silent, doesn’t mean that God is absent.

God’s delays are not necessarily God’s denials.

God divinely demonstrates His glory in delay.

“but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” - Galatians‬ ‭4:4-5‬

Being offended is inevitable.
Living offended is a choice.

Jesus did not tell us to be right. He told us to be loving.

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:18‬ ‭

True Peace isn't found in the Absence of Problems.
True Peace is found in the Presence of God.

The battle for Peace always begins in our Minds.

Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.

In Thriving in Babylon: Living godly in a godless world, we'll look at some of the relevant issues of our day and what our approach should be toward them from the Word of God. We want to be a people who are not influenced by culture, but instead influences the culture around us for Christ.

God calls us to the mountaintop to be close to Him. It may seem lonely, and it may involve testing, but the mountain allows us to be with Him.

'And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, ' - Mark 3:13-14

In the valley, we look to God to be with us. But on the mountaintop, God calls us to be with Him. Usually associated with victory and triumph, the mountain can be a time of loneliness and testing. In each mountaintop experience, God calls us to be with Him, in His presence. The God Who is with us wants us to be with Him.
