Our generation of young adults is characterized by several prevailing attitudes. There are those who are complacent, not caring about the future or those around them. There are many who care only about themselves, making every decision with only their benefit in mind. However, I have found that there are many in the middle ground between those two extremes. Many of our generation care about their
future but have no direction or guidance of where they should go. Many also have a desire to be someone, not just to make a name for themselves but to make a difference in the world. What this group of single, young adults is seeking is a purpose. It is a goal. It is a reason for living that is bigger than themselves. You might find yourself in that place as well. As the world seeks for a purpose, we have the truth, the answer, the reason for living. As Christians, God has created us and saved us for a special purpose: His purpose. II Timothy 1:9 says, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” God has a special reason for each one of us to live on this earth, and it is up to us to find it for ourselves.
