💚 Every Life is a Gift. Every Mother Deserves Compassion. 💚

This past Sunday, a mother made the courageous decision to safely surrender her newborn at The Woodlands Fire Department, Station 6.

At St. Joseph's Foster Care Ministry, we want to pause and acknowledge the incredible courage it takes to choose life, even in the midst of overwhelming circumstances. We do not know her story, her struggles, or the burdens she was carrying—but we do know this: she gave her child the opportunity for a future.

To this mother, wherever you are: we are praying for you. May you know that you are seen, loved, and worthy of compassion. We pray that God surrounds you with His mercy, healing, comfort, and peace.

To this precious baby: you are fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved by God, and your life has immeasurable value. We pray for the family who will welcome you with open arms and provide a home filled with love and if you never get the chance to meet your biological mother, know this: she loved you....so very much.

Safe Haven laws exist to protect both mothers and their children during times of crisis. They are a reminder that there is always hope and that no one has to face a difficult situation alone. A big thank you to Safe Haven Baby Box, Inc. and Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs for always being such big defenders of life!

As a foster and adoption ministry, we are continually reminded that every child deserves to be cherished and every parent deserves support. Let us continue to pray for vulnerable families, encourage life, and be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." — Jeremiah 1:5

Baby Safely Surrendered at TWFD Station 6

A baby was safely and anonymously surrendered on Monday, July 13, 2026, using The Woodlands Township Safe Haven Baby Box located at Fire Station 6, 1100 Windsor Lakes Blvd., in The Woodlands.

The Woodlands Fire Department followed all established Safe Haven Baby Box protocols, and the baby was safely transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

The Safe Haven Baby Box, located at The Woodlands Fire Department Station 6, provides a secure, anonymous option for the legal surrender of a baby. When a baby is placed inside the climate-controlled box, a silent alarm immediately alerts firefighters, allowing personnel to respond within minutes while preserving the anonymity of the individual surrendering the child.

"This Safe Haven Baby Box exists for moments exactly like this," said Fire Chief Palmer Buck. "Today, a baby is safe because someone chose a secure and legal option during what was undoubtedly a difficult situation. We are grateful the system worked as intended and that the baby is now receiving the care they need."

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors approved the installation of the Safe Haven Baby Box, which was completed in April 2025, in partnership with Safe Haven Baby Boxes, Inc. The box operates under the Texas Safe Haven Law, providing a legal and anonymous option for the safe surrender of a baby while ensuring the child receives immediate care.

"The Safe Haven Baby Box provides a compassionate option that protects the health and safety of babies while offering hope during a crisis," said The Woodlands Township Chairman Brad Bailey. "We are thankful this baby is safe and commend the Fire Department for its commitment to providing this lifesaving resource to our community."

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." — Matthew 25:40

Did you know that for many teens in foster care, something as simple as choosing their own clothes can restore confidence, dignity, and a sense of belonging?

That's why St. Joseph's Foster Care Ministry is partnering with Love Heals Youth to help restock their Mobile Closet—a special ministry where foster youth can "shop" for clothing they actually like, helping them feel seen, valued, and confident.

🛍️ We're collecting:
👕 Clothing in all sizes—from little kids to 3XL and beyond!
👟 Shoes, jackets, jeans, tops... if it's in good condition, we'd love to receive it! If you feel moved to buy new, so be it!

📅 Drop-off Day: July 19

📍 Two convenient donation locations:
❤️ Conroe: 212 Conroe Drive, Conroe
❤️ Montgomery: 131 Quail Ridge Place, Montgomery

⛪ St. Anthony Parishioners:
We'll be collecting after the 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM Masses at the fountain. Just pull up—we'll gladly unload your donations from your car!

Every shirt, every pair of jeans, every jacket is more than clothing—it's a reminder to a child that they are worthy, loved, and never forgotten.

So gather those gently loved clothes, invite a friend to clean out their closet too, and let's fill the Mobile Closet with generosity!

Together, we can help these incredible youth head back to school with confidence, dignity, and hope. 💜

St. Joseph, Protector of the Holy Family, pray for us!

💜 Love Builds Leaders... one act of kindness at a time. 💜

Looking for a way to do some good but keep letting excuses get in the way? Here's your chance: Get involved, NOW!

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9

Just a few years ago, Love Heals Youth began serving a handful of foster teens. Today, by God's grace, that outreach has grown to serve up to 60 adolescent foster youth at every event! 🙏 What an incredible reminder that when we say "yes" to God, He multiplies our efforts beyond what we could imagine.

As the ministry grows, so does the need for loving hands and generous hearts. ❤️

Will you help us remind these amazing teens that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved?

Here's how you can serve:
🍽️ Prepare a meal
🥗 Bring a delicious side dish
🙋 Volunteer to serve and encourage our youth

No matter how you choose to help, your gift of time, food, or presence becomes a tangible expression of Christ's love.

📅 Join us on Monday, July 20! Pick your time throughout the day (9-4pm). Set-up or Clean-up, serve lunch then eat and talk with the kiddos, closet shopping - there are several options!

A backpack may seem like a small thing, but to a child in foster care, it can be a powerful reminder that someone believes in them and that they are NOT forgotten. Together, we can help every student begin the school year with confidence, dignity, and hope.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ and for loving these children so well. ❤️
