Ever wonder what it looks like when we pack 14,000 meals in 3 hours?
Take a look!

On ELCA’s God’s Work, Our Hands Day, Lord of Life Lutheran Church in The Woodlands, TX worked in 3 shifts to pack meals for hungry people around the globe.

They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of people worldwide. We created a start-to-finish meal assembly experience to combine rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a packet of 18 vitamins and minerals into life-changing meal packages. The food stores easily, transports quickly and has a long shelf-life to help meet the immediate nutritional needs of people facing food insecurity, paving the way toward resilient and bright futures!

Through the month of September we’ll be taking a deeper look at some teachings of Jesus that can shed some light on how we form community, why we need community, and how community can thrive.

Today, what we hear is a story of a man who receives forgiveness and then refuses to offer forgiveness to others. To form community, we have to embody the forgiveness we have received from God so that we can practices forgiveness of others.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the lives lost and hold all who mourn in prayer.
