One of my favorite paintings of all time. If you look carefully, you will notice that Daniel is calm and relaxed even in the face of imminent death. You will also notice that each lion has a different expression. One is snarling in anger. One is cowering in fear. One appears old and sad, another curious. The leader of the pride, the lion in the middle, is looking directly into Daniel's eyes and bowing. When you have faith in God, you can walk with confidence into the lion's den and face all your fears and emotions with calm and peace.

Proper nutrition is SO important to bodies and minds! It is amazing what passes for food these days. Everyone needs to be educated about modern processed foods. What we put in our bodies affects our health and our minds.

All of God's Creation is good. There is nothing bad in it. Only in human hearts and minds does evil exist. This is the original sin of Man, to decide for ourselves what is good and what is evil. That is what is meant by "the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Gen 2:3. After taking the "fruit", Adam and Eve decide for themselves that their nakedness is shameful and they cover themselves and try to hide from God. "Who told you that you were naked," God asked them. Gen 3:11 When we realize that everything is indeed good, just as God created it, our eye is opened to the glory of His Creation and we receive joy in our hearts. This was the Buddha's enlightenment also - the realization that everything is perfect, that all things a miracle. The devil (deceiver), has clouded our vision and made us think that there is bad in God's Creation. In truth, even Satan exists for God's purpose, otherwise, God could easily destroy him. Trust in God and "know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Rom 8:28

In John 8, we learn about the adulteress brought before Jesus. Under the law of Moses, she should have been stoned to death. Jesus did not dispute the law, but he said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." In this way, Jesus did away with the death penalty. We should too. None of us are worthy of being an executioner. No judge, jury or executioner should wield such power. No matter how heinous the crime, we should not invoke the death penalty. The moment of our life and the moment of our death should be up to God and only God. Some people are possessed by evil spirits and cannot be held accountable for their actions. Innocent people are convicted of crimes every day. Convicted murderers on death row have been exonerated. We are imperfect as is our judicial system. We should allow God only to judge and determine proper justice.
