Tomorrow, we celebrate Trinity Sunday. Join us at 8:00 am or 10:30 am as we explore this mystery together. You are also warmly invited to our Trinity Sunday Choral Evensong at 5:00 pm, an ancient Anglican service of prayer, scripture, and music.

In one sense, every Sunday is Trinity Sunday, because Christians understand God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: Three in One (Tri-Unitas), a communion of love.

The roots of this mystery run deep in the prayers of Israel. In Isaiah’s vision, the angels sing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.” And in the Shema, prayed daily by faithful Jews, we hear: “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is One” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

The early Christians came to understand this one God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and through the continuing presence of the Holy Spirit. The doctrine of the Trinity is not abstract “holy math,” but a living invitation into the love and life of God.
