A few favorite moments of the Mass of the Holy Spirit from our POV 📸

We were truly blessed to come together in prayer and fellowship this week as we begin a new academic year. May the Holy Spirit guide, strengthen, and inspire our community throughout the year ahead.

Hear from our previous summer cycle leader, Luthi: “I had the honor of traveling to South Africa this year with 10 other students and our chaperone. We studied the history and lasting effects of apartheid, explored politics and education in South Africa, spent time at Kliptown Youth, and much more. The immersion was incredibly meaningful, but our project started long before we got on that (incredibly long) flight. Through our formations, commissioning, retreat, and time spent getting to know one another, we built a strong sense of community before we even left. From so many laughs and memories to moments of deep reflection, this experience impacted me in so many ways. I left South Africa with lifelong memories, friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the people who made this experience so special. More importantly, I left changed, carrying the lessons I learned with me and a renewed commitment to live them out back home. I am grateful for my team, for the lessons we learned, and for an experience that I know will stay with me for a long time.”

After 24 years of dedicated service, Gil Severiano is retiring from Fordham University Campus Ministry.

Throughout her career as Director of Operations, Gil has been the steady presence behind countless service initiatives, campus events, and moments of care that have shaped the Campus Ministry community for generations of students.

An excerpt from our tribute, "Finding A Way: How Gil Severiano's Heart and Soul Transformed Campus Ministry":

"In the corner of Fordham University's Campus Ministry office at Rose Hill hangs a sign that reads, 'Where there's a Gil, there's a way.'

What began as a lighthearted gift from former student interns became, over the years, a simple truth."

As we honor the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we give thanks for his enduring witness to a life rooted in faith, service, and love of neighbor.

At Fordham, St. Ignatius’ legacy is woven into the life of our campus, and his presence can even be found throughout its architecture. The next time you’re walking around campus, see how many depictions of St. Ignatius you can spot.

To mark his feast day, Fordham Campus Ministry is sharing St. Ignatius’ Prayer for Generosity. May his example continue to inspire us to seek God in all things and to serve others with generous hearts.
