2015 Free Holiday Buffet For The Bronx’s Neediest
We would like to invite you to support our 2015 Free Winter Holiday Buffet for the Bronx’s neediest. It will be held on December 23, 2015. Typically, winter holidays are a time of joy, merriment, and celebration – but they can also be one of the loneliest times of the year. The needy and senior citizens often struggle through the season because loved ones may live far away, or the friends they’ve known for years have passed on. What should be a happy time becomes one of isolation and even depression. To mitigate this problem, our organization has planned weeklong activities including movies and carol evenings, culminating in the free holiday buffet on December 23, 2015 for needy and our senior citizens. We will feed a minimum of 300 people in our spacious community center. You are cordially invited to generously support this event and invest in someone’s life.

Christ Disciples International Ministries, Inc is a 501 (c) (3) faith-based organization. It was established in the year 2007 with the mission to end hunger and related illnesses in the Bronx County of New York City. We achieve our mission by providing food to any Bronx’s resident through our regularly scheduled food distributions on Wednesdays and Saturdays including seven days a week walk-in for those on food emergencies. We distribute more than 78,500 free nutritious food packages to greater than 1200 Bronx’s households monthly. We, also, run a vibrant community health project including Walk Club which wraps around the food program to raise awareness of the dangers of diabetes, asthma including obesity, and teach risks’ reduction. Furthermore, seniors in need of computer skills participate in our computer literacy classes free of charges. Our vision is a community where families are healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of the society.

Each year we rely on generous support of government, foundations, corporations, individual donors and organizational partners to help us fulfil our mission. We will greatly appreciate your contribution of any size in support of our program. You may also wish to support our fund-raising event as: a Partner – $500 and up. Your contribution will have a full page acknowledgement in the event brochure and in all our other outreach literatures. Supporter – Up to $100. Your contribution will be acknowledged in the event brochure. Please make your check or money order payable to Christ Disciples International Ministries. We Are Consistently For Good News!!!
We are resuming our next session of the popular FREE Computer Classes for seniors on Monday January 26, 2015. The training is absolutely FREE for seniors and other residents of the Bronx’s Community District Seven (CD #07) in need of computer skills. Classes will run three times weekly on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We have limited space. Registration is first-come-first-served. CHRIST DISCIPLES INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, INC
We need volunteers in our Social Service Unit:

Computer operators
Duties:
They will provide hands-on computer tutorials to seniors to assist them overcome their perceived hurdles to computer literacy and , thus, empower them to acquire basic computer skills and be positioned to participate in and gain from the global super information industry.

Handymen - carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.
Duties: They will assist in light cleaning, painting and set-up of our programs new activities' space - Needed all through the months of March through June 2013.

Service Volunteers –
Duties: They will help to pick up, load and off-load goods such as computers and furniture; as well, they will receive, package and distribute foods to the community. Should be pleasant, able to stand long hours and lift food boxes of a maximum of 30-50 lbs. Residents of Bedford Park, Fordham, Jerome Park, Kingsbridge Heights, Mosholu, Norwood and University Heights in the Bronx are preferred.

We have daily and on-going need of volunteers in our Social Service Unit - Monday through Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00am through 2:00 pm.

Our mission is to provide supportive services to the under-served, particularly, youths and needy families in the Bronx so as to empower them physically and spiritually to live their dreams and engage in helpful activities to themselves and the society.

Our activities’ areas include: Spiritual enrichment, Education and Youth Leadership, Environment and Community Health and Wellness Outreach, Food and Nutrition, including Immigration and Citizenship.
