Devotion- The Greatest Desire!

Throughout biblical history we read about a powerful and mighty nation, the nation of Israel! A nation that had its share of ups and downs but in the end always came back to the presence of God. It is amazing that this very nation Israel a people chosen by the Lord were still in the place where the author has to share his desire for them to be saved!

In Romans 10 verse 1 the author shares that his hearts desire for Israel is that they might be saved! My question for you this morning is.. is that the greatest desire you have for yourself? Yes God performed the miraculous for Israel, yes he rose up mighty men and women of God to defeat strong armies but there was and there is nothing more important than the salvation of the Lord! What is your greatest desire?

El mayor deseo!

A lo largo de la historia bíblica leemos sobre una nación poderosa y grandiosa: ¡la nación de Israel! Fue una nación que vivió altibajos, pero que al final siempre regresaba a la presencia de Dios. ¡Resulta asombroso que esa misma nación —Israel, un pueblo escogido por el Señor— se encontrara en una situación tal que el autor tuviera que expresar su deseo de que fueran salvos!

En Romanos 10:1, el autor comparte que el anhelo de su corazón para Israel es que sean salvos. Mi pregunta para ti esta mañana es: ¿es ese el mayor deseo que tienes para ti mismo? Sí, Dios obró milagrosamente a favor de Israel; sí, levantó a hombres y mujeres poderosos de Dios para derrotar a ejércitos formidables; pero no había —ni hay— nada más importante que la salvación del Señor. ¿Cuál es tu mayor deseo?

Devotion- Remember The Assignment!

Prior to Jesus dying on the cross which was his ultimate Purpose, he still acknowledged that he also had an ASSIGNMENT! As he picks up the book of the prophet and reads it aloud in the synagogue he lets everyone know what his assignment is! Now not only was this important because he was sent, but it was also important to expose to the politics that attempted to hinder his service. What are you saying Pastor?

Many of the religious leaders and spectators always accused our Christ of blasphemy. They wanted to slander his reputation and integrity by challenging his truth. However, with every religious leader, Pharisee and mocker JESUS KEPT HIS ASSIGNMENT! He also countered and cast down many arguments by doing the work of the kingdom! So my question for you this morning is have you kept your assignment? Or have you let politics get in the way of what God called you to do? There will always be a hindrance, there will always be a distraction but you.. must remain steadfast and you must remain focus! REMEMBER THE ASSIGNMENT!

Recuerda la encomienda!

Antes de morir en la cruz —lo cual constituía su propósito supremo—, Jesús reconoció que también tenía una encomienda específica. Al tomar el libro del profeta y leerlo en voz alta en la sinagoga, ¡dio a conocer a todos cuál era su encomienda! Esto no solo era importante por el hecho de haber sido enviado, sino también para confrontar las maquinaciones políticas que intentaban obstaculizar su ministerio. ¿Qué quiero decir con esto, pastor?

Muchos líderes religiosos y espectadores acusaban constantemente a nuestro Cristo de blasfemia. Intentaban difamar su reputación e integridad cuestionando la verdad que él proclamaba. Sin embargo, frente a cada líder religioso, fariseo o burlador, ¡JESÚS SE MANTUVO FIEL A SU ENCOMIENDA! ¡También refutó y derribó muchos argumentos mediante la obra del Reino! Así que mi pregunta para ti esta mañana es: ¿has cumplido con tu encomienda? ¿O has permitido que las cuestiones políticas se interpongan en lo que Dios te llamó a hacer? Siempre habrá obstáculos y distracciones, pero tú... ¡debes permanecer firme y enfocado! ¡RECUERDA LA ENCOMIENDA!

Devotion- The Real Labor Day!

The Bible says that after God created the earth God saw that it was good then he rested! We can learn a lot about what the Lord did and why he did it. In case you are confused this morning.. I’m talking about rest! The word “rested” in the Hebrew does not mean that the Lord was tired because, the Bible says that he never sleeps or slumber. However, what it does mean is that he completed a task and he went into a peaceful state after it was done!

What are you saying Pastor? I’m saying there was order! The Lord knew when to work and when to refrain from working! Some of us think that we will be more effective if we go nonstop working when in reality there is progress in resting! What do you need to rest from this morning and how should you be resting? I know it’s Labor Day but we should all be resting IN the Lord!

¡El verdadero Día del Trabajo!

La Biblia dice que, después de crear la tierra, Dios vio que era buena... ¡y entonces descansó! Podemos aprender mucho sobre lo que el Señor hizo y por qué lo hizo. Por si acaso hay alguna confusión esta mañana... ¡estoy hablando del descanso! En hebreo, la palabra «descansó» no significa que el Señor estuviera cansado, pues la Biblia dice que Él nunca duerme ni adormece. Sin embargo, lo que sí significa es que completó una tarea y entró en un estado de paz una vez terminada.

¿Qué quiere decir con esto, pastor? ¡Quiero decir que hubo orden! ¡El Señor sabía cuándo trabajar y cuándo abstenerse de hacerlo! Algunos pensamos que seremos más eficaces si trabajamos sin parar, cuando en realidad ¡hay progreso en el descanso! ¿De qué necesitas descansar esta mañana y cómo deberías hacerlo? Sé que es el Día del Trabajo, ¡pero todos deberíamos descansar *en* el Señor!

Devotion- EXCUSES! We all have them!

An excuse is an explanation that we use to justify ourselves in order to free ourselves from an obligation. The dangerous part of an excuse is that as long as we have one it frees us from taking accountability. Excuses allow us to point to everyone else except for ourselves! Excuses paralyzes efforts and hinders us from accomplishing what God has for us!

On one occasion when Jesus comes down to ask a man if he wanted to be healed, the man complained that he had no one to put him in the water. However, Jesus never asked if the man had anyone to put him in the water, he asked the man if he WANTED TO BE HEALED! How many times have we lost Gods blessing because instead of taking accountability or answering to what God has told us or asked us we created Excuses? I want to challenge us this morning to put down excuses and pick up responsibility. Don’t miss your blessing because you are busy complaining or blaming everyone else! Be accountable and take charge of what God has for you!

“When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.”

Excusas! ¡Todos las tenemos!

Una excusa es una explicación que usamos para justificarnos y librarnos de una obligación. Lo peligroso de una excusa es que, mientras la tengamos, nos libera de la responsabilidad. ¡Las excusas nos permiten culpar a todos menos a nosotros mismos! ¡Las excusas paralizan nuestros esfuerzos y nos impiden lograr lo que Dios tiene para nosotros!

En una ocasión, cuando Jesús bajó a preguntarle a un hombre si quería ser sanado, el hombre se quejó de que no tenía a nadie que lo metiera en el agua. Sin embargo, Jesús nunca le preguntó si tenía a alguien que lo metiera en el agua, ¡le preguntó si QUERÍA SER SANADO! ¿Cuántas veces hemos perdido la bendición de Dios porque, en lugar de asumir la responsabilidad o responder a lo que Dios nos ha dicho o pedido, hemos inventado excusas? Esta mañana quiero desafiarlos a dejar de lado las excusas y asumir la responsabilidad. ¡No pierdan su bendición por estar ocupados quejándose o culpando a los demás! ¡Sean responsables y tomen las riendas de lo que Dios tiene para ustedes!

«Cuando Jesús lo vio tendido, y supo que llevaba ya mucho tiempo en ese estado, le preguntó: “¿Quieres ser sanado?”. El paralítico le respondió: “Señor, no tengo quien me meta en el estanque cuando las aguas se agitan; mientras yo voy, otro baja antes que yo”.»

Devotion- Overcoming Denial!

A lot of us have a difficult time healing internally and conquering life’s challenges because we struggle with denial! What do you mean Pastor? When we don’t take accountability not only do we lie to others but we lie to ourselves and the most dangerous part of all that is that we actually start believing the lie that we tell ourselves.

For example, we don’t have a problem. We don’t need deliverance. We will get through it because it’s just a phase without even confronting the root of the situation. However, you know what finally happens church when you refuse to deal with denial? It transitions through generations of people sweeping things under the rug. Because you CANNOT CONQUER WHAT YOU REFUSE TO CONFRONT!

Superando la negación!

A muchos de nosotros nos cuesta sanar interiormente y superar los desafíos de la vida porque luchamos contra la negación. ¿A qué se refiere, pastor? Cuando no asumimos la responsabilidad, no solo mentimos a los demás, sino que también nos mentimos a nosotros mismos; y lo más peligroso de todo es que terminamos creyendo la mentira que nos contamos.

Por ejemplo: decimos que no tenemos ningún problema, que no necesitamos liberación o que saldremos adelante porque es solo una etapa pasajera, todo ello sin llegar a enfrentar la raíz de la situación. Sin embargo, ¿saben qué sucede finalmente, iglesia, cuando uno se niega a lidiar con la negación? El problema se transmite de generación en generación, ocultando las cosas bajo la alfombra. ¡Porque no puedes vencer aquello que te niegas a enfrentar!

Devotion- Where Do I Go From Here?

Struggling in anything doesn’t mean failure! And failure doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s over! For some of us this season right here, right now is about reflecting and reevaluating so that we can get back on track and stay the course. The problem is many of us have detoured so far we might not be sure what to do next, so we ask the question..WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? Hoping that a solution will fall out of thin air!

Some of us feel blind because we can’t see past where we currently are! Some of us feel deaf because we’re not hearing from God so what do we do and where do we go from here? The answer is.. simply acknowledge God! What do you mean Pastor? Just tell God about it! Maybe you say to me but HE KNOWS!!!! That might be true but there is a difference in him knowing and him being actually INCLUDED! I want to challenge us this morning to simply pray this prayer. God unless I hear from you I will be still and quiet. Once we do this the direction we need will come!

Qué hago ahora?

¡Tener dificultades en algo no significa fracasar! ¡Y el fracaso no significa necesariamente que todo haya terminado! Para algunos de nosotros, esta etapa —aquí y ahora— es un tiempo para reflexionar y reevaluar, a fin de retomar el rumbo y mantenernos firmes en el camino. El problema es que muchos nos hemos desviado tanto que tal vez no sepamos qué hacer a continuación; entonces nos preguntamos: «¿Qué hago ahora?», ¡esperando que la solución surja de la nada!

Algunos nos sentimos ciegos porque no podemos ver más allá de nuestra situación actual. Otros nos sentimos sordos porque no escuchamos la voz de Dios. Entonces, ¿qué hacemos y hacia dónde vamos? La respuesta es... ¡simplemente reconocer a Dios! ¿Qué quiere decir eso, pastor? ¡Simplemente cuéntaselo a Dios! Quizás me digas: «¡Pero Él ya lo sabe!». Puede que sea cierto, pero hay una diferencia entre que Él lo sepa y que realmente se le incluya en el asunto. Quiero desafiarnos esta mañana a hacer simplemente esta oración: «Dios, hasta que no escuche de Ti, permaneceré quieto y en silencio». ¡Una vez que hagamos esto, llegará la dirección que necesitamos!

Devotion- He’s Greater!

What if I told you that you have everything in you to succeed in life? This includes EVERYTHING THAT LATELY HAS BEEN TRYING TO STOP YOU! The truth is that the enemy is intimidated when he sees you because when he sees you he sees God! And he would do anything to try and stop you in an attempt to get to God! However, the Bible declares that we have something on the inside of us that is GREATER and that is the Lord!

The enemy specializes in working through the world, but God specializes in working through us! Therefore the next time that you are confronted with the enemies tactics just know that what you have is Greater! When the world makes you feel like you are unloved or insignificant, what you have is Greater! Because Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world!

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Él es mayor!

¿Qué pasaría si te dijera que llevas dentro todo lo necesario para triunfar en la vida? ¡Esto incluye todo aquello que últimamente ha intentado detenerte! La verdad es que el enemigo se siente intimidado al verte, porque cuando te ve a ti, ¡ve a Dios! ¡Y haría cualquier cosa por detenerte en su afán de llegar a Dios! Sin embargo, la Biblia declara que llevamos algo en nuestro interior que es MAYOR: ¡el Señor!

El enemigo se especializa en actuar a través del mundo, ¡pero Dios se especializa en actuar a través de nosotros! Por eso, la próxima vez que te enfrentes a las tácticas del enemigo, ¡ten presente que lo que llevas dentro es mayor! Cuando el mundo te haga sentir que no eres amado o que eres insignificante, ¡recuerda que lo que llevas dentro es mayor! Porque mayor es el que está en mí que el que está en el mundo.

Devotion- You Welcome!

How many of you know that it pleases God to bless your life? However, the Lord looks for a spirit of gratitude from his people! He looks for people who are thankful and understands the value of what God does for them. We cannot take Gods love and greatness for granted we must show him that we understand that he does it because he wants to do it, BUT HE DOESN’T HAVE TO!

Please understand that you are breathing and living because God CHOSE to do it for you!! Not because HE HAS TO DO IT!!

No podemos dar por sentado el amor y la grandeza de Dios; debemos demostrarle que entendemos que Él actúa así porque quiere hacerlo, ¡PERO NO ESTÁ OBLIGADO A HACERLO!
