Meet Michelle.

A proud South Bronx native, Michelle grew up in the Spanish-speaking congregation of Missionary Church of Christ before becoming part of the New Season English congregation a few years ago.

As the daughter of immigrants, Michelle has worked tirelessly to break barriers and create new possibilities for herself and her family. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and has now achieved an incredible milestone—graduating from nursing school and becoming a Registered Nurse! 🎓🩺

The journey wasn’t easy. Through demanding coursework, long hours in labs, clinical practicums, and countless challenges, Michelle persevered with determination and faith.

Today, she not only serves others through her profession but also serves faithfully as a worship leader at New Season, using her gifts to lead people into God’s presence.

Michelle’s story reminds us that purpose often requires perseverance, and that God can use our faithfulness to open doors for future generations.

We are so proud of you, Michelle. Your story is proof that you were made for more. 💙

💙 Happy Father’s Day at New Season 💙

Today we celebrated all the fathers and father figures in our church family, and we took a special moment to honor and pray over Pastor Phil, the spiritual father of this house.

Scripture reminds us:

“For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers.” — 1 Corinthians 4:15

Spiritual fathers are a gift. They lead, encourage, protect, and help others grow in their faith. In a world that often minimizes the value of godly men, we are grateful for men who faithfully answer God’s call to lead with humility, strength, and love.

Thank you, Pastor Phil, for your faithful shepherding, your prayers, and your heart for God’s people. We are blessed by your leadership.

Pentecost is lived out in the way we love our neighbors, extend grace, pursue justice, forgive freely, and reflect Christ in our everyday lives. The same Spirit who filled the upper room still fills ordinary people today with the power to live extraordinary lives.

Yes, we celebrate the gifts of the Spirit—but the greatest evidence of the Spirit’s presence is a life transformed by His love.

Yesterday, our Senior Pastor, Rev. Philip Bonano, brought two powerful messages to our New Season family. In our English service, he preached from Romans 8 on what it means to walk in the Spirit. In our Spanish service, he taught from 1 Kings 17 on the power of faith-filled generosity.

We are grateful for the opportunity to worship, learn, and grow together in a multilingual and multigenerational church community right here in the South Bronx.

Today we’re launching a new series called Made for More—a celebration of the incredible people in our New Season family and the ways they are pursuing their God-given purpose.

Meet Athena. 💙

Athena grew up at New Season Church after her family connected with our congregation through our very first community street fair. A proud South Bronx native, Athena has distinguished herself as an honor student and was selected for the highly competitive Prep for Prep program.

Through her hard work, determination, and academic excellence, Athena earned a full scholarship to attend a prestigious college preparatory private school.

We are so proud of the young woman she is becoming and grateful to have watched her grow over the years. Athena reminds us that talent exists everywhere, opportunity changes lives, and with faith, perseverance, and support, there is no limit to what our young people can achieve.
