Update from Jason the missionary:
5 for 500! Immediate Prayer Need!
Family,
William Carey challenged us to “expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.” That’s our posture this year.
We are expecting God to fulfill the Revelation 7:9 vision — every tribe, tongue, and nation before the throne. And we are attempting to be among those God uses to accomplish it.
Here’s the reality:In South Asia, there are nearly 1,000 people groups with no Gospel, no Scripture, no disciple, no church. That is unacceptable to our hearts.
But God is moving. We are already seeing it. Last year, among people groups that had never heard the name of Jesus, there are now new churches worshiping the Lamb. Praise the Lord!
We also know this: Prayer moves the heart of God.Think of Abraham pleading for S***m. Think of Hezekiah — where God said, “Because you prayed…” history shifted. Over and over, we see God respond to the prayers of His people.
And this is the holy tension we live in:
Imagine the holy moment when a people group hears the Gospel for the very first time — when they realize that God already knew they would one day stand before His throne… we already believed that promise… and all this time, they were the last to know. And oh, how glorious that moment will be.
So I’m inviting you to join a simple, bold, global prayer challenge:
The “5 for 500” Prayer Movement
Pray 5 minutes every day for the Gospel to go to 500 Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPGs) in South Asia this year.
* Set an alarm for 5:00 (AM or PM — or any time you’ll keep).
* Stop for 5 minutes.
* Pray with faith that God will do what only He can do.
“5 for 500.” Five minutes. Five hundred peoples. One great God.
Why this matters
* Revelation 7:9 is not theory — it’s our assignment.
* There are still families who have never heard the name of Jesus even once.
* Opposition will be great, but our God is greater. Who is like our God?
* Imagine the holy moment when first believers, first baptisms, and first churches are born among the 500 — answers to the prayers of the saints.
This year, we are asking the Lord to bring the Gospel to 500 of these people groups who have never had it among them. Only God can do something this big — and we believe He will.
Let’s be the boiler room of prayer for this goal. Let’s expect God to do it and then watch Him accomplish His vision. What a privilege to live in these days.
