TONIGHT'S HEALTH UPDATE: Due to paperwork delays, communication delays in transferring my care back to Dalhart, and delays in getting the IV medication for home use, we are just now settling in for the evening in our own home! YAY! All in all, I'm feeling pretty good, but I'll be taking IV therapy for several weeks at home. I appreciate all of the continued prayers. God is still sovereign, my dog still Ioves me and all is right with the world!
I love each one of you. Good night and Merry Christmas everybody!

UMC-LUBBOCK--HEALTH UPDATE ON THE HEALTH UPDATE: I've been back in the room now for a day and a half since surgery. My son, Lee, who has been here since Sunday, left yesterday. My daughter and her family are getting moved into their new house in Anchorage, Alaska. Sara is trying to get some rest in the recliner next to me. What a blessing to have family and friends who care!
I have had a little difficulty getting rest and breathing/talking with packing in my nose and a large bandage over my nose and mouth, but I have no pain, am alert, and the doctors say at this point, I'm on the way to full recovery!
Thanks to all you for taking the time to pray! May God richly bless each and everyone!
To God be the glory regardless of the outcome. I love each of you, and as always, Merry Christmas!

UMC-LUBBOCK--HEALTH UPDATE ON THE HEALTH UPDATE: As many of you know, I was supposed to have emergency sinus surgery this afternoon. That didn't happen for a couple of reasons. 1. The surgery is still necessary and still considered an emergency, but is no longer urgent.
2. The OR ran out of time due to other more urgent cases and I got bumped to Thursday.
This is actually a good thing because now the antibiotics and steroids will have a chance to do their magic for a little longer. While meningitis remains a threat, hopefully, it is going to be reduced because of the additional antibiotics that will be in my system.
I am in no pain and can still see pretty clearly out of both eyes. I have given this to God and trust that whatever happens from this point will be within His will.
Thank you all for your prayers, please feel free to continue them, and may God bless you real good!
Merry Christmas everybody!

HEALTH UPDATE:
I would've posted this earlier, but I wasn't real sure what to tell anyone. I went to the emergency room at BSA in Amarillo on Friday with a severe headache and dizziness, and my left eye was swollen shut and I was unable to open it, even with help. After several tests, and a C-T scan, they determined that I needed emergency sinus surgery ( I was hoping for a shot and a course of antibiotics).
So, I was flown to UMC for the surgery. I have an infection that has gotten into the bone and hole has been eaten into the crainial cavity. The brain is protected by a tough lining, that appears to be unaffected as of yet.
They started me on a regime of multiple IV antibiotics and steroids and after that has a chance to work it's magic, they will do surgery tomorrow (Tuesaday). Their main concern is meningitis may develop with or without surgery, but is most likely without surgery.
I started feeling way better yesterday, and so far, today. No pain or dizziness, and I can see out of both eyes again. I really missed being at church yesterday, but Floyd French told me that the sermon from the substitute preacher was way better than normal, so that made me feel better . . .
Anyway, prayers would be appreciated, but are not necessary. I know I will be with my Savior, Jesus Christ, one day and I am ready for that. I hope that day is not anytime soon, as I feel like I still have unfinished business here. If you happen to be in the Lubbock area, come by UMC, room 447, and see me.
I love you all!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
