Kwanzaa is not a religious celebration. Kwanzaa is a celebration of culture, family, community and unity. In the week that follows our celebration of the birth of Christ, the Galveston community through the efforts of the Nia Cultural Center called attention to the seven principles of Kwanzaa and honored people from the community doing great things to serve others.
