كانت السيدة عائشة -رضي الله عنها- شديدة الغيرة على رسول الله حتى أنها غارت من أم المؤمنين خديجة -رضي الله عنها- الزوجة الأولى لرسول الله وهي لم تراها حيث قالت: "ما غِرْتُ علَى أحَدٍ مِن نِسَاءِ النبيِّ ﷺ، ما غِرْتُ علَى خَدِيجَةَ، وما رَأَيْتُهَا، ولَكِنْ كانَ النبيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَهَا، ورُبَّما ذَبَحَ الشَّاةَ ثُمَّ يُقَطِّعُهَا أعْضَاءً، ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُهَا في صَدَائِقِ خَدِيجَةَ، فَرُبَّما قُلتُ له: كَأنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ في الدُّنْيَا امْرَأَةٌ إلَّا خَدِيجَةُ، فيَقولُ إنَّهَا كَانَتْ، وكَانَتْ، وكانَ لي منها ولَدٌ"،
فكانت تغار عليه عندما يبرُّ بأقارب خديجة -رضي الله عنها- بعد وفاتها. ولم تكن غيرتها من خديجة فحسب بل كانت تغار من باقي زوجاته فقد روت السيدة عائشة رضي الله عنها: "ما رأيتُ صانعةً طعامًا مثلَ صفيةَ ، أهدتْ إلى النبيِّ ﷺ إناءً فيه طعام ٌ، فما ملكْتُ نفسي أن كسرتُه فقلتُ : يا رسولَ اللهِ ما كفَّارتُه ؟ قال : إناءٌ كإناءٍ وطعامٌ كطعامٍ"، فمن شدة غيرتها على رسول الله قامت بكسر إناء صفية وكان النبي ﷺ حكيمًا في التعامل معها.

Our Mather Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was very jealous regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She was even jealous of Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet’s first wife, despite never having seen her. Aisha said:
“I was not jealous of any of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ as much as I was jealous of Khadijah, although I never saw her. But the Prophet ﷺ used to mention her often. Sometimes he would slaughter a sheep, cut it into portions, and send it to Khadijah’s friends. At times I would say to him, ‘It is as if there was no woman in the world except Khadijah!’ He would reply, ‘She was such-and-such, and such-and-such, and I had children from her.’”
Aisha would feel jealous when the Prophet ﷺ continued to honor Khadijah’s relatives and friends after Khadijah’s death.
Her jealousy was not limited to Khadijah alone; she also felt jealous of the Prophet’s other wives. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated:
“I had never seen anyone prepare food as well as Safiyyah. She sent a dish of food to the Prophet ﷺ, and I could not control myself and broke the dish. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is its compensation?’ He replied, ‘A dish for a dish, and food for food.’”
Out of her strong jealousy for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, she broke Safiyyah’s dish, and the Prophet ﷺ dealt with the situation with wisdom and gentleness.
