Here at The Road Church... it's about the Journey! The everyday steps we take that lead us closer to God. You know…we all have good days and bad days, but it’s the “in-between” days that seem to catch us off-guard and take us off course. This can lead us down a slippery slope. However, we have learned, through our own experience of falling from grace, to embrace and love people right where they are. Just as others loved us through our errors, we want to love others through theirs. We’re all broken and in need of a savior. “everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence.” (Romans 3:23 GN). So, whether you are currently in a dark place or off the road completely we’re here for you. We get it. We understand. We’ve been there. And because God loves us so much - he wouldn’t dream of leaving us in that place. He desires for us to grow in Grace, in Knowledge and in Christ.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18 NIV)
Here at The Road Church... we desire everyone to experience God for themselves in worship on Sunday mornings. We believe that a true encounter with God will spark spiritual growth. When you feel God speaking to your heart through a song or a scripture from the bible, He becomes more real to you. So, we encourage everyone to leave their problems and issues at the door and allow God to be the center of the service so He can be experienced on a personal level. When you want to deepen your relationship with God, you need to move beyond simply knowing “about” Him and seek personal encounters “with” Him.
“Then leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, ‘come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?’” (John 4:28-29 NIV)
Here at The Road Church... we encourage people to explore their faith through studies and courses. We offer a safe place to ask questions because we all have them and they are all relevant. If we never find a safe place to express our concerns or ask the difficult questions, we’ll never feel at peace. So, ask away and find those answers that you seek!
We also believe that prayer changes things so we offer prayer time at every service. When prayers are answered, in ways never imagined possible, faith grows stronger and stronger. So, we encourage people to explore their faith through prayer and building a relationship with the Father.
The definition of faith is: strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. So, based on this, we see that faith is a belief system that has a beginning and continues to grow. As we believe more and more that God is who he says he is and He is capable of the things that He promises in the bible, our faith grows. Then we start to recognize His plan for us.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)
Here at The Road Church... we believe that everyone is responsible for their own spiritual journey. So, we encourage everyone to equip themselves and participate in courses and bible studies offered throughout the year that will inspire a healthy, mature walk.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV).
We offer a variety of study topics throughout the year. Here are a few running courses:
**ALPHA by Nicky Gumbel – (Twice a Year) A series of interactive video sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. The atmosphere is casual - we serve a meal, watch a short video clip and engage in conversation afterwards. Topics include: Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How can I have faith? Why and how should I pray? Why do bad things happen to good people?
**Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Pete Scazzero - (Once a Year) You can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. In this bestselling course we examine the top ten symptoms of emotionally “unhealthy” spirituality. Then core biblical principles are unpacked to guide individuals into an experience of lasting, beneath-the-surface transformation in a relationship with Christ.
**Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer – (Periodically) Worry, doubt, confusion, depression, anger, and feelings of condemnation… all these are attacks on the mind. If you suffer from negative thoughts, take heart! This course shows you how to change your life by changing your mind. You will be taught how to deal with thousands of thoughts you have every day and focus your mind to think the way God thinks.
Here at The Road Church... we GO because we know that God has called us “out” of ourselves and into the world to be a light in dark places. We offer different opportunities to be a part of something bigger than ourselves in the church, the community and in our own families. We are big on community and feel strongly that the walls of the church should not keep us from sharing our gifts and talents with other believers and churches regardless of our theological differences. If we see a need, we respond. There are plenty of existing projects and events to be a part of in Texas City and the surrounding areas. We are the hands and feet of Jesus, so we Go! #bettertogether
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)
The Road Church is a warm and inviting place where people are accepted, needed and wanted. It's a place where you can make new friends and feel right at home. Dress is casual.
We would love to meet you right where you are...
