To All The Tired Ones… Meet Me Here.
This morning, I had a conversation with a fellow minister who said, "Aren't you afraid of becoming known as the homeless church? Do you really think people want to come on Sundays and sit next to them?" My reply, "It would be an honor to be known as the homeless church, and... the people who wouldn't want to come and sit next to them, they are precisely why we are doing this work. They are precisely why we all need to become known as the "homeless" church, the "immigrant" church, the "gay" church, insert the adjective, my dear friend, because being "that" church is why we are called to be here."
