FAMILY MINISTRIES NATURE OUTING AND BAPTISMS

Texarkana Family Ministry leaders Zach and Samantha White love spending time in God’s creation through nature, and many Family Ministry outings have focused around this love of nature. Their children, Anna and Zoe, have grown to love it, and the Creator as well. When Anna and Zoe expressed a desire to be baptized, they also asked if they could be baptized in nature.
Sabbath day, July 25, 2026 Family Ministries led church service in Texarkana with a sermon on salvation by living faith.
Following the service, they led an outing to Shady Lake in the Ouachita National Forest.
In God’s serene creation the church had a picnic, singing and reading of God’s word.
The church family then walked down to the nearby Saline River where Anna and Zoe were baptized by Elder Mike Sowers, and assisted by their father Zach.
Elder Antwion Collins and retired Pastor Rex Shores participated in the solemn service by presenting the girls with their baptismal certificates.
Although there was great joy in the baptizing of two wonderful souls into the church, we know the greatest rejoicing was in the Heavenly Court!

"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." Luke 15:7.

A Families Ministries outside church and campout led by Zach and Samantha White began with Friday evening fellowship and sundown worship at Rocky Point Campground on lake Wright Patman.
Those camping overnight retired to their travel trailers, Zach, Samantha, Anna, Zoe, Cynthia White, Raul and Martha Garcia, while Billie Johnston III retired to his tent to wait on the thunderstorms to hit.
They all woke up to a beautiful Sabbath day that started with 30+ additional church family members coming out for adult Sabbath School class that was lead by Elder Antwion Collins with youth Sabbath School that was led by Billie Johnston Jr. and Samantha White.
The following worship service at the campground amphitheater began with song service led by the Diaz family and then a sermon by Zach White about “God’s Power in Creation”.
Virginia Arnold prepared and served a hearty chili hotdog lunch for all. Virginia also prepared Frito Chili pie for supper for all that stayed until the evening.
Other activities included a day of hikes, crafts for the youth, and lots of fellowship with each other.
It was a wonderful weekend, enjoying Christian fellowship and God’s powerfully created outdoors.
