The Church of God with General offices in Anderson, Indiana, is a fellowship of Christian people who are endeavoring to live up to the name they bear. Born in the 1880's. This movement had at its heartbeat the restoration of principles and practices of the New Testament Church among all believers. With no intent of being "another denomination," the movement breathes the vision of uniting all Christians everywhere into oneness of Christ. To do this, the Church of God endeavors to take a position of openness on the God-ward side to all truth and openness on the man ward side to fellowship with all God's people everywhere. We believe the Church is not an organization you join, but a fellowship of persons who by spiritual birth have become members of the family of God. Therefore, the Church of God is an open fellowship to all who have joined themselves to God. A slogan often used is "where Christian experience makes you a member." There is no rite of Church joining, but rather a recognition of an experience of fellowship with those who are in Christ. Unlike other groups, the C.O.G has no man-made "creed'.
