The Church once again calls us to enter the holy season of the Dormition Fast, a 2-week period of preparation (August 1-14) leading to the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos on August 15, commemorating the "falling asleep" or peaceful death of the Virgin Mary. Throughout this fast, the Church particularly seeks the loving intercessions of the Most Holy Theotokos before the Throne of Her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Most Holy Theotokos save is! ~Fr.
