Last week, our Pre-K4 and Transition Kindergarten classes were blessed with a special visit from the Kaufman County Arborist, Pam Porter! 🌳💚

Ms. Porter's annual visit is always a favorite, and our students love learning about the amazing world of plants and trees. She taught them how to tell the age of a tree, why plants are so important, the many ways we use them in our everyday lives, and how we can be good stewards of the beautiful world God has entrusted to us.

The children had so much fun getting hands-on with their learning by making leaf rubbings, measuring plants, and creating their very own "dirt babies" to take home. They are excited to watch their grass seeds grow and care for their new green friends!

A big thank you to Pam for sharing her knowledge and helping inspire a love and appreciation for God’s creation in our young learners. 🌱✨

We had a wonderful week of discover and learning at MDS.

From caring to our garden to exploring the local library, our students are growing in so many ways. Pre-K4 students experimented with color mixing, created cozy nests, and proudly wore their handmade rainbow necklaces.

Our Kindergarten students spent the week building foundational skills through letter matching, shape sorting, number writing and important fire safety lessons.

Pre-K3 strengthened their fine motor skills through play dough activities and their large motor through playground fun with their friends.

Everyday brings new opportunities to learn, create and explore together.

🌈 Exploring, Creating, and Laughing Together!
From silly science goggles to sorting shapes and building Noah’s Ark crafts, our classrooms are full of discovery and delight. Each day brings new chances to learn through play, imagination, and friendship — and we’re so thankful for the bright smiles that fill our halls!

This past week was filled with opportunities for our students to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

During chapel, we learned about God's love and practiced listening, singing, and worshiping together.

Our classrooms have been busy as students worked on letter recognition and formation, strengthening early literacy skills that build a foundation for future reading and writing. We also explored color sorting activities, helping children develop important math skills such as classifying, comparing, and organizing objects.

Block play encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as students designed and built their own structures. Through cooperative play, the children continued making new friends and practicing valuable social skills such as sharing, communicating, and working together.

Outside, our little superheroes took over the playground! Imaginative play helps children develop language, creativity, confidence, and collaboration while having fun with their classmates.

We are so proud of all the learning, exploring, and growing that takes place each day at Methodist Day School.

What a wonderful week at Methodist Day School!

This week all of our special programs began, and our students jumped, right into the fun and learning! We enjoyed our first classes in Spanish, soccer, dance, and gardening.

In the classroom, we learned about the creation, story and practiced resting, like God did on the seventh day. We had so much fun sorting objects, shaking our maracas, dancing with colorful scarves, and exploring new ways to learn and play.

Of course, there was plenty of time for playground adventures and practicing our names as we continue to build confidence and independence.

It has been a week filled with smiles, discovery, movement, and growth. Fun and learning or had by all, and we cannot wait to see what next week brings.
