I had flashbacks on the way to prison from when I got locked up at 12 years old.
I wasn't the kid anybody had high hopes for.
I was the one people wrote off.
The troublemaker.
The one who confirmed everything they already assumed.
And I didn't have a different picture of myself either.
I thought my past would stay my present and become my future.
More of the same.
Maybe worse.
But God doesn't consult your reputation before He writes your story.
He doesn't ask the people who gave up on you first.
He doesn't look at your record and decide what you're worth.
He already decided that before you were born.
I'm sitting in the back of this car on the way to preach the Gospel and sometimes it still doesn't feel real.
13 years inside.
Locked up at 12.
And somehow this is the life.
Not because I turned it around.
Because He turned it around.
There's a difference.
I didn't climb my way out of that story.
God rewrote it.
Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
Before the gang.
Before the charges.
Before the years inside.
He already knew.
He already had this planned.
