"Be Thou My Vision" (no. 451 in The United Methodist Hymnal) is based on Irish poetry from the 8th century. It is the kind of song which connects us with generations of believers who have come before us.

With two simple words—"Follow me"—Jesus invited Matthew into a new way of living, a new purpose, and a new relationship with God and others.

We hear that invitation, as well. Christ meets us where we are and calls us forward with grace, hope, and possibility.
