What a joy it was to celebrate a special milestone in the life of our parish this past Sunday!

We were honored to witness Walton and Deedy renew their wedding vows as they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Surrounded by family, friends, and their church community, they reaffirmed the promises they made four decades ago and gave thanks for God’s faithfulness throughout their marriage.

Anniversaries like these remind us of the enduring power of love, commitment, and grace. We are grateful to have shared in this meaningful occasion and offer our heartfelt congratulations to Walton and Deedy on 40 wonderful years together.

May God continue to bless them in the years ahead!

Atonement was proud to be represented at the Tenafly Pride Parade and Flag Raising on June 1. As we celebrate Pride Month, we give thanks for the diversity of God’s creation and reaffirm the equal dignity, worth, and belovedness of all people. We celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ members, families, friends, and neighbors—not only during Pride Month, but throughout the year. We are all God’s beloved children. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

What a wonderful Sunday at Atonement!

We gathered to celebrate Trinity Sunday, hold our Annual Meeting, and share in a truly special milestone as Lynne and Dean renewed their wedding vows in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary.

It was a joyful morning filled with worship, gratitude, laughter, and love. Seeing Lynne and Dean renew the promises they first made right here at Atonement four decades ago was a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness through the years.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable day and helped make it so special. Congratulations, Lynne and Dean, on 40 years of marriage!

Join us this Sunday for a special day in the life of our parish!

As we gather for worship on Trinity Sunday, we’ll also hold our Annual Meeting following the service.

We are especially excited to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of our rector and her husband, Lynne and Dean, as they renew their wedding vows. Forty years ago, they were married right here at Atonement, and we are honored to share in this joyful milestone with them.

Whether you’re a longtime member, a newcomer, or simply looking for a place to worship, we invite you to join us for this meaningful and memorable celebration. All are welcome! ❤️

Have a blessed and meaningful Memorial Day. Church of the Atonement was founded in 1868, the year of the first “Decoration Day,” which became Memorial Day. “Atonement” not only referenced the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross, but the sacrifice of all those who died in the Civil War for the sake of the Union and the end of slavery. We remember and honor them, as we trust in Christ alone for our ultimate salvation and healing.
