Message about 2023 Parish-wide Vacation Bible School

Hello all - Parish wide VBS will be June 18th-23rd from 6-8:30 pm with a lite supper being served from 5:30-6pm. I will be heading up things this year but it still takes a village to make it a success!! Please feel free to call, text, send me a message or comment. Cheryl Manis 423-794-9077. Each year Ten Mile United Methodist Church awards a scholarship to a senior at Meigs County High School. The applications for the scholarship are available at the high school now. They are due back to the high school by April 30, 2021.

During the pandemic, Ten Mile UMC has been holding "Drive-In Church." You park in the church parking. Everyone is required to stay in your own car. No hugging allowed. The service is broadcast over your car radio. We enjoy a wonderful service with scripture readings, hymns, a message from our Pastor Doug Brown, special prayer requests. We even shared Holy Communion last Sunday. You pick up a package when you drive in from a greeter who is masked. In the package are the instructions, bulletin of service, offering envelope, and card to record prayer requests. That is your only interaction with anyone outside your car. If you would like to attend church safely, join us at 9:45 am Sunday mornings.

We are thrilled to report that Pastor Doug Brown will be returning as pastor at Ten Mile and Oak Grove United Methodist Churches. This will be his 18th year at our church. We are so blessed to have him continue in ministry with us. The United Methodist Church has developed some guidelines to help us plan how we can reopen our church safely.

Ten Mile and Oak Grove United Methodist Churches have ceased meeting together at the church for the foreseeable future. We will let everyone know when it is deemed safe by the Holston Conference to resume our services. These are difficult times, but we serve a God who is bigger than all circumstances.

Ten Mile/Oak Grove UMCs are sending out weekly newsletters to church members and friends. Each newsletter contains a special word of encouragement from Pastor Doug, announcements, prayer requests, and other news of interest to our folks. We miss seeing each other like crazy, but are trying to stay in touch.

Ten Mile United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that Meigs County High School senior, Emily Crittenden, is the 2019 recipient of our scholarship. This is the 17th scholarship our church has awarded to a MCHS senior.

Due to extensive flooding in Ten Mile, the Ten Mile United Methodist Church will not have a service tomorrow. Stay home and stay safe. Would love to see you next Sunday at 9:45 am. Have a blessed week.

Happy New Year! A great 2019 resolution would be to find a church family who will share the Gospel of Jesus with you, love you, pray with you, and welcome you. Come visit us at Ten Mile United Methodist Church next Sunday. Our worship starts at 9:45 am, with Sunday School following. Everyone is welcome.
