🛠️✨ As we close the chapter on VBS 2026, we do so with full hearts and renewed spirits.

This week, the halls and sanctuary of Eighth Street Baptist Church were filled with children, youth, and adults learning together through our Junkyard Redemption theme. Day after day, we were reminded that God has a way of taking what seems broken, overlooked, or worn by life's circumstances and transforming it into something beautiful for His glory.

While the decorations will come down and the schedule will return to normal, the conversations, lessons, laughter, fellowship, and moments of spiritual growth will remain. We witnessed generations gathering together to study God's Word, strengthen their faith, and be reminded that no life is beyond God's reach and no situation is beyond His power to redeem.

VBS is never just about a week of activities. It is about creating opportunities for people to encounter God's truth, deepen their relationship with Him, and leave encouraged to continue the work He has started in them.

As we move forward, may we carry the message of Junkyard Redemption with us: God is still restoring, still rebuilding, and still making all things new.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

✝️ What an incredible and inspiring week at the Texas State Missionary Baptist Convention Inc Youth & Adult Congress in Dallas, Texas!

Today marked the final day of Congress, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have represented Eighth Street Baptist Church among believers from across the state. Throughout the week, our delegates participated in worship, biblical instruction, leadership development, fellowship, and engaging congressional sessions that challenged us to grow deeper in our faith and stronger in our service to God’s Kingdom.

As we return home, we carry with us valuable lessons, renewed inspiration, and a greater commitment to serve Christ and our community. We thank God for safe travels, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to learn alongside so many dedicated servants of the Lord.

✨✨Texas State Missionary Baptist Convention Youth & Adult Congress ✨✨

Eighth Street Baptist Church is proud to be represented at the Texas State Missionary Baptist Convention Inc Youth & Adult Congress in Dallas, Texas!

Today was filled with inspiration, learning, and spiritual growth as attendees participated in the Dean’s Address and additional congressional sessions designed to equip, encourage, and strengthen believers for service in God’s Kingdom.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow alongside fellow believers from across the state. Please continue to keep our representatives and all Congress participants in your prayers as they gain knowledge, wisdom, and renewed purpose to bring back to their churches and communities.

✨Today was a blessed and memorable day at Eighth Street Baptist Church as we celebrated our All White First Sunday and witnessed the ordination of Bro. Octavis Sanders as a Deacon.

Through his servant’s heart, steadfast faith, and commitment to God, his family, and this church, Bro. Sanders has demonstrated the qualities of leadership and discipleship that this sacred office represents. We thank God for His calling upon Deacon Sanders’ life and for the example he continues to set for others.

Please join us in congratulating Deacon Octavis Sanders and praying for him as he embraces this new season of ministry and service. May God continue to strengthen, guide, and use him for His glory.

A pastor is more than a preacher. A pastor is a leader, a servant, a counselor, a protector, and a vessel chosen by God to pour into the lives of His people. Pastor Bennett, your faith, vision, compassion, and dedication to the Kingdom continue to impact Eighth Street Baptist Church and the entire community in a powerful way.
