This past Lord’s Day, we welcomed our brother Josh into the Lord’s family.

Josh has been worshipping with the congregation at Temple Church of Christ for a few months now.

On Sunday, he was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit for the remission of sins.

His humility and devotion to follow Jesus fully have already been a great encouragement to all members of the body in Temple.

Please pray with us that God guides and strengthens Josh, as well as all of the members here in Temple.

Do you ever feel overlooked or disconnected in a church with hundreds of members?

In the New Testament, the earliest Christians worshiped and lived out their faith in close-knit congregations, worshipping “house to house.”

In very large church settings, it’s easy for people — especially visitors and new members — to feel unnoticed or disconnected.

Being in a large church sometimes makes it hard for believers to truly know one another, grow together in Christ, and offer meaningful support when it’s needed most.

While large churches may offer lots of programs and activities, more emphasis is placed on fun and entertainment instead of spiritual growth.

It can be really tough to build deep relationships or feel like a true part of the body of Christ.

At the Temple Georgia Church of Christ, we strive to reflect the simplicity and unity of the early church.

As a single, unified body of Christ, we worship together, serve together, and grow together.

We strive to live in harmony with one another.

Being in a close-knit church makes it easier to genuinely care for one another, to encourage one another, and truly “bear one another’s burdens.”

If you live in the Temple, Bremen, or Villa Rica, or anywhere else in the west Georgia area and are looking for a loving, welcoming, Bible-based church, we invite you to come visit us.

We are thankful to share that Zach and Ashley Nelson, along with their son Nathan Overbey, were baptized tonight into Christ!!!

We are rejoicing with this family (and the angels in Heaven) as they begin this new walk of faith, committed to following the Lord and living according to His Word.

Please keep them in your prayers as they grow, serve, and encourage others through their example!
