Bishop Tracy S. Malone, the area bishop of East Ohio Conference, was today elected president of the Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church during the bishops’ meeting at Lake Junaluska Assembly.

Prayers abound for the family and loved ones of retired Bishop Devadhar who died suddenly. Bishop Devadhar most recently served the New England Annual Conference, which is part of our jurisdiction.

Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar dies at 72
It is with deep sadness that the Council of Bishops announces the sudden passing of Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar, a retired bishop of The United Methodist Church, who died yesterday, July 18, 2023. He had served Greater New Jersey Conference and New England Conference. He retired Jan. 1, 2023.

Welcome back, Bishop Easterling!!

Bishop Easterling returns to the BWC!

Bishop LaTrelle Miller Easterling was reassigned by the Northeastern Jurisdiction Committee on the Episcopacy to lead the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Conferences. The appointment was announced and celebrated on Nov. 4 at the Jurisdiction’s meeting in College Park, Md.

Today, the Northeastern Jurisdiction Committee on Episcopacy and College of Bishops announced the episcopal assignments and coverages for 2023-2024. We rejoice that Bishop LaTrelle Miller Easterling will continue to serve our annual conference.
