We are set apart from this world thanks to the goodness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are born again in Him, and therefore the Holy Spirit is in us and we are made of Him. What an amazing blessing! Thanks to God, we can find peace in His love and provision. Just as Jesus was sent down to spread the good news of God’s grace and mercy, we are commissioned (as His children who have been blessed thanks to the gospel) to represent our Savior by sharing His love that fills us. We have been blessed with this gift of peace and righteousness, it has given us a new meaning in life: to share the same goodness with others so that they may also be blessed with it.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the wonderful gift of life in You. It is thanks to You that we can truly LIVE, we are blessed to experience Your glory. May we be a witness to those around us. We pray that they will experience Your love and glory through us. Thank You for the blessing of the Holy Spirit that resides in us. Amen.

How many of us try to live life our own way, with our own strength, with our own wisdom? And how often does that work out well for us? Well, Jesus is here to help guide us through life. He’s here to carry our burdens. He’s here to help us to live abundantly. And most importantly, He’s here to bring us into the joy of salvation.

Where would we be if we could not see anything? We’d be so lost in the darkness. Jesus equates Himself to being our guiding light, so that we don’t have to stumble in the dark. He came to save us from a world of darkness. Without Him, we’d be stuck fumbling around, getting fooled, and hurting ourselves in the dark while crying out for help. Jesus is the one who turns on the lights and says, “Here I am. Let me help you navigate through life. I will be with you every step of the way.”

Dear God, we praise You for being the ultimate light! You are the only source of light that we need because You are dependable and forever. Thank You for coming down into this dark world to help us see. We fully embrace this blessing and bring glory to Your name. May we share this abundant light with others so that they may also be blessed and see how You are present and working in their lives. Amen.

We know that it’s sometimes difficult to see eye-to-eye with those in positions of power. However, Jesus will always use His power for our good. Do you believe He wants to be there in the thick of trials with us? Do you believe that He enables mercy and justice? Draw near to Him. Experience for yourself the compassionate and powerfully tender love of Jesus!

This week, we studied the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Lazarus’ sisters, Mary and Martha, were devoted followers of Christ and were well aware of His power and glory. And Lazarus, Mary, and Martha weren’t just acquaintances of Jesus; they were very dear friends. Everyone knew that they were close with Jesus, so they expected Jesus to go over to heal Lazarus right away when he fell ill. But Jesus waited to perform an even bigger miracle. Jesus used this as an opportunity to show that He wasn’t just a healer - He could raise someone from the dead. That isn’t to say that He didn’t feel their pain, Jesus was deeply saddened to see them mourn the loss of their brother. Not only is our God almighty, but He also has compassion for us. His love and power go hand-in-hand, He uses His power to show us how much He loves us.

Loving God, we are humbled by how much compassion You have for us. We bring glory to Your name for not only Your great power, but also Your great love. Because of that, we find peace in knowing that we can trust You to take care of us. May we remember that You have great things in store for us. Amen.
