It's been a deep blessing to have the Smith family in town on furlough from Bible translation in Western Asia.

As they gear up to return overseas, pray for rest, strength, provision, and continued "awakened" faith in the Lord!

It's been a joy to celebrate and partner with Brother Watt's ministry in the Ivory Coast since he visited us last year.

When asked what he wished more people knew about the Kolango people, Brother Watt gave a simple and powerful answer: “That they need Jesus.”

This December, we hope to send 10–15 more students to serve for four weeks alongside the ministry.

Pray for provision, protection, and faith for the upcoming team, the believers Brother Watt is serving, and those yet to be reached with the Good News.

1. God is our strong tower.

2. Every demonic rebellion still serves God's purpose. All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him.

3. God doesn't always remove our trials, but His desire is always to redeem and refine us through them. Ex. Jesus' prayer during Peter's temptation.

4. Isolation is where we're most vulnerable. It invites unconfessed sin and shame. But Christ is interceding for us in our darkest places.

5. Abide. Feast. Delight. His victory is already total and perfect.

Last week, our students had the opportunity to serve alongside our sister church in Los Angeles.

They made miracles happen doing service projects at the new church building and spent time in the city sharing the hope of Jesus to World Cup visitors from all over the world, creating many opportunities for the local church to continue those relationships.

The trip was a huge encouragement to the church in LA, as well as to the students who served. "The trip was amazing... God felt so present in every moment."

Thank you for praying and sending them. We’re grateful to see the next generation living on mission and making Jesus known wherever they go.

Shoutout to all the leaders and servants who helped make this opportunity happen!

Meet the Team: Part 5

Ryan moved from Colorado to join Desert’s End in 2011. He now serves as a deacon and helps lead the Missions Support small group, where he’s passionate about encouraging and uplifting those serving around the world.

He’s married to Abra, and together they have four amazing kids: Emma, Rosalee, Annabelle, and Asher. Ryan is also a serious coffee enthusiast, running his own small-batch roastery out of his home. He’s been making Sunday morning coffee at Desert’s End great for years.

We’re grateful for Ryan’s heart for missions and his dedication to serving our church family!

Such a beautiful Sunday together.

From worship to the message, we were reminded of both God's power and mercy. When God provides, moves, or blesses us, He deserves all the glory.

Join us in two days for Good Friday as we reflect together, and don’t forget to invite someone to Easter—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Meet the Team: Part 4

Barrie Wheeler is a deacon at Desert’s End who loves spending time with his kids and grandkids and is happily married to his wife, Sue. He’s passionate about diving deep into God’s Word and often finds joy in pondering how Scripture intersects with the world around us.

Barrie leads the Equipping the Saints Missional Community alongside Owen, where the focus is on studying the Bible and applying it to our lives in a practical, fulfilling, and spiritually rich way.

We’re grateful for Barrie’s thoughtful leadership and his heart for helping us grow deeper in God’s Word and live out our faith with intention and joy!
