Many of you have asked about our Columbarium – what will happen to the remains of our loved ones that are interred there? The answer is – our entire Columbarium will be moved to Desert Palm United Church of Christ (1230 East Guadalupe Road, between McClintock and Lakeshore, in Tempe), where a special section designated for First Congregational Church will be added to Desert Palm’s existing Columbarium. On Wednesday, April 19, at 10:00 a.m., we will hold a brief service of dis-interment in our patio, in honor of our loved ones as we prepare to move them to a new resting place. All members and friends of First Congregational Church are warmly invited to attend. We realize that there may be folks who are no longer in contact with our church, but who have loved ones in our Columbarium and would like to know what is happening to the remains, and who should be invited to the April 19 service. We’ll do our best to contact everyone for whom we have contact information. But if you are in touch with anyone who may not have been in church for a while, but who has someone buried here – please be kind enough to let them know of our plans.

First Church supports Meals on Wheels as one of our local missions in Tempe. Our volunteer drivers deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable Tempe's seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity. Please contact your representatives in Washington to save this necessary community service.
