Blood Drive, July 23, 2024: 8 am – 2 pm: The Red Cross will take walk-ins, but priority is given to those with appointments. Location: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1111 E Knox Rd, Tempe 85284. Schedule an appointment (Find a Drive) or go to redcross.org and select Find a Drive.

Seminary fireside July 21st 7 pm at the Stake Center in the chapel.  The fireside is for all new and returning students and their families.  Leaders of the youth are also invited.  It is a great way for everyone to know and understand our seminary program.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU…Volunteering at this event would be very rewarding, heartwarming and joyful. Ages 16 and up can volunteer, this would be a great summer activity for teen volunteers! 
What: 2024 Williams Syndrome Association National Convention
When: Wednesday July 10 -Saturday July 13th at 7:45am-4:45pm
Where: Hyatt Regency Phoenix, 122 N 2nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004
What is Williams Syndrome? A rare chromosome deficiency condition often called the happy syndrome because people with this condition often have outgoing, friendly personalities and tend to be very social. This condition is manifest in physical attributes of a wide smile, button nose, and full cheeks. Most have mild intellectual disabilities, are self sufficient, love music and song, and are a joy to be with. 
Needed: 150 volunteers, ages 16 and up, to help at the Convention with assisting children and teens with Williams Syndrome on field trips and activities. This is a multi-day event. Those that can volunteer multiple days would be greatly appreciated. Please join in with neighbors of diverse faiths and beliefs for our annual National Day of Prayer observation May 2nd at 6 pm at Tempe Community Complex (outdoor courtyard at Southern and Rural). A proclamation from the mayor about the Day of Prayer will be read, followed by words from local faith leaders and lifting up of the prayers of the people.

National Day of Prayer is Thursday. All are welcome to an interfaith gathering in Tempe that is always a wonderful experience.

May 2nd, 6 pm, outside in the courtyard of Tempe Community Center, SW corner of Southern and Rural. We'll be by the small amphitheater just south of the Tempe History Museum, by the Tempe Public Library.

Escaping Germany Fireside with T.C. Christensen

T.C. Christensen, the film maker, will be presenting a special fireside about his latest film: Escape from Germany. Escape From Germany Full Theatrical Trailer

In August of 1939, as Hitler’s army was closing borders, eighty-five American missionaries were in Germany serving their church. It soon became evident, they had to get out. Written from their personal journals, this is a quiet testimony that God really does go before His servants, opens doors and sends His angels to bear them up. A mix of N**i’s, Miracles and James Bond. The escape of these missionaries from N**i Germany is one of the most dramatic events in Modern Church History.
