Crosspoint Family,
Throughout June and into July I have been sharing a sermon series based in the book of Psalms. As you know by now, the Psalms are actually songs for the to people sing to God. Last week we navigated through the 59th song authored by David as he reflected upon a particularly difficult time in his life. The purpose of the Psalm wasn't for David to relive his experience but rather for David to share with the people his reflections of how God cared for him, helped him and led him out of his troubled time.
Simply put, David was celebrating with the people that God was present even in his darkest hours. God provided David a way out of a situation that looked inescapable. We too, need to be reminded that God sent his son Jesus Christ so that we may escape the inescapable consequences of our sin.
Titus 3:4-8 (NIV1984)
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
This week, will you reflect upon what has been done for you and devote yourself to sharing this good news?
