When we grow in faith, we face our doubts and seek truth. Admitting our questions is honest and healthy. John the Baptist, who was praised by Jesus as a great prophet, faced circumstances that led him to doubt. Like John, we often face questions without clear answers. Even with a desire to believe, we can struggle with doubt. Do you ever ask God questions like, “Is the gospel true, or have I made a mistake?” or “Why has obeying God brought suffering to my life?” Life in a fallen world can leave us with real questions. Take your confusion straight to the Lord. He is strong enough for your questions. Not every question in life has a satisfying answer, even for a believer. But trusting God’s purposes offers stability when your faith is tested. He is always faithful. What in your life confuses you? Where is your faith faltering? Take it to the Lord!

Have kids (nieces, nephews, grandkids)? Bring them to the school program.

Saw this and thought of the school program:

Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be.

God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.

Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God.
Train them up in the authority of His Word.

Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control.

Empower them to know they can change the world.

Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it.

Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan.

He knew Daniel could handle the lions den.
He knew David could handle Goliath.
He knew Esther could handle Haman.
He knew Peter could handle persecution.

He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for it!

Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime.

Rise up to the challenge.

Raise Daniels, Davids, Esthers and Peters!

God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world.

He has an army He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth.

Don’t let your fear steal the greatness God placed in them. I know it’s hard to imagine them as anything besides our sweet little babies, and we just want to protect them from anything that could ever be hard on them, but they were born for such a time as this.

We heard in the lecture this week about the "brood of vipers" who missed the point John the Baptist was making... They thought being in the line of Abraham was sufficient, no repenting or baptism needed. They sure did miss the point.

Once a month we arrive early (30 minutes or so) for the F part of BSF, Fellowship. Generally copious amounts of pizza is on hand and we fall into food a coma! NO that won't happen :-)

THIS is a PERFECT time to invite a friend....

So plan accordingly for this coming week.

DOCTRINE for Week 2: God's Sovereignty
I am looking forward to this week's class as we study Matthew 2. God’s Sovereignty is the doctrine to direct our thoughts to for this week’s lesson. God is Sovereign and this doctrine means He controls everything in the universe to accomplish His good purposes. Nothing is outside His control. God does not merely know ahead of time what people will decide and how history will unfold. He orchestrates world events, nations, and daily life in perfect alignment with His eternal purposes. Key players this week: king Herod, wise men (Magi), religious leaders…

While it may seem a tad early (September) to be seeing Christmas Trees in stores 😳 it wasn’t to early to sing “Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel” last night in BSF. We studied Matthew 1 which is about the birth of Christ, Jesus (who saves us from sin) who God sent as Emmanuel (God with us).

Wow, what a fast but REWARDING week. Our four month summer interlude has ended and we are back. Not only that.....It has been 18 months since we met as a group [in person] and what a JOY it was to SEE everyone again! I am looking forward to this coming week and doing it all over again!

7000 N. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ. 85020
@ 7:00pm Tuesday evenings starting 9/14/21

The satellite class will use the chapel and gym for discussion groups and the chapel for lectures.
