Change is hard, but not impossible.

This Sunday, Pastor Scott kicked off our new series, How We Change, with a message about the real challenges of change and the greater hope we have in Jesus.

The chemistry of our brains, social norms, and human nature all make sustained change difficult. But God has not left us stuck. He has given us the power to grow, heal, and make profound, lasting changes that shape our lives, our families, and the world around us.

Even Jesus, the central figure, understood the power of delegation. He built a team of disciples who carried His message forward, ensuring His work would continue generation after generation. As John 20:21 says, 'As the Father sent me, so I am sending you.' This responsibility now falls to us – to love our neighbor and bring mercy, justice, and love to the world.

This Sunday, we begin a brand-new series that will lead us into a fun and meaningful season of growth - "How We Change". We’ll look at the way Jesus and his friends changed the world, the heart behind that change, and what it means for us today.

Following Jesus is not only about believing the right things. It is about becoming new people who live differently, love deeply, serve faithfully, and join God in making the world better for the good of people and the glory of God.

We hope to see you Sunday at 9:30 or 10:45am in person or online!

Even Jesus, a dedicated doer, recognized the need for rest. When life got overwhelming, He sought quiet places for Himself and His apostles. We too, especially those prone to constant activity, must prioritize taking care of ourselves, just as He advised.

Jesus teaches us to be a city on a hill, a light that cannot be hidden. Instead of dimming your light, let it shine through your good works, honoring God and revealing His heart to the world. Your labor, done with love and faith, becomes the light of heaven.

Today, we remember.

On Memorial Day, we pause with gratitude for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We honor their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who carry their legacy.

As a community of faith, we are also reminded of the greatest love of all: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

May today be a day of rest, remembrance, and gratitude as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and give thanks for the hope we have through the sacrifice of Christ.

Worshiping together in one room does something profound. It honors God as our provider and enough, but it also builds us up. When you sing 'God you are enough,' someone beside you might need to hear that. If worship music doesn't move you, that's okay. But consider opening up your emotional guard. Allowing yourself to connect with God can lead to richer emotions, deeper connections with others, and incredible things happening within our faith family.

What a beautiful Sunday.

This past weekend, we celebrated baptism with several individuals and families from our Rancho community. Each story, each step into the water, and each celebration afterward was a reminder of what makes the church so meaningful: people from different backgrounds, generations, and walks of life coming together as one community of faith.

Baptism is more than a moment. It is a picture of new life, a public step of faith, and a celebration shared by the whole church family.

To everyone who was baptized, we celebrate with you, we are praying for you, and we are grateful to walk alongside you.

Live Free. Do Good.
