Affirming Statement for Temecula United Methodist Church

At Temecula United Methodist Church, we believe that love is the essence of our faith and that all individuals are created in the image of God. Rooted in Romans 13:8-10, we acknowledge the call to love one another without reservation, recognizing that genuine love transcends judgment and embraces all of humanity.

We affirm that homos*xuality is not a sin, and we reject any belief that suggests otherwise. Our understanding of Scripture leads us to celebrate the diverse expressions of love and identity within our community. We are not merely a welcoming church; we are an affirming church. Here, no one’s love or identity needs to be altered to be embraced by a loving God. We believe that God’s grace is expansive, inclusive, and unconditional.

As we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves, we are reminded that this love must be expressed through empathy, compassion, and understanding. We are called to create a sanctuary where everyone feels safe, accepted, and valued, free from judgment and fear.
