Often, we look for peace as a result of our circumstances, but biblical peace (eirēnē) is far deeper. According to Spiros Zodhiates, this peace isn’t just a quiet feeling; it is a state of harmony and the absence of enmity. It is a status we hold because of our position in Christ.
Our “Christian walk” doesn’t require the world to be perfect for our hearts to be at rest. We can have a “rest” and a “peace” that passes understanding because we are abiding in the One who is on the throne. He is not just the giver of peace—He is our peace.
