Living Free Institute Healing the soul through Jesus. We host 7-Day Intensives focused on Identity I Freedom I Calling! Next intensive is in Orlando Florida in April 2026!

MERCH STORE!https://living-free-merch-store.printify.me/ We believe that because Jesus overcame the cross; He can overcome anything. Spirit of Life Recovery is a 501 c-3 designed to support the local church. Our ministries reflect areas of specialization and training pertaining to crisis, specifically as that relates to the presence of addiction, heart injuries, emotional challenges and other sel

f-sabotaging behaviors. Our restoration focus is meant to both inject solution and offer insight as to God’s heart in bandaging wounds, reconciling relationships and dealing with the harsher realities of addiction and boundaries. From both a spiritual perspective and practical tools, our goal in everything we do is to bring Jesus into overwhelming circumstances in a tangible way where He can do what He does best: redeem.

FATHER AND MOTHER WOUNDS
COMPELLED: HEAD TO HEART—LIVE TODAY 9 am PST | 12 PM EST

Please join us this Labor Day for an impactful and life-changing topic.

Our mothers and fathers occupy the most formative human positions in our lives. Through them, we first experience—or fail to experience—love, safety, belonging, protection, and identity.

Facing these wounds is not about blame, pointing fingers, or remaining permanently victimized by what happened. In a world increasingly focused on estrangement as the answer, we want to seek Heaven’s perspective.

Dealing with father and mother wounds requires an honest look at what was offered, what was missing, and how trauma formed around those experiences. There are physiological, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual consequences. When these wounds remain unresolved, they can unknowingly dictate how we react, survive, relate, and live.

Freedom comes through awareness, grief, forgiveness, and separating our parents from their human limitations. We can stop asking wounded people to fill the place that belongs to God—and allow Him to end cycles of trauma once and for all.

“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.”
—Psalm 27:10 NLT

✨ The Bible was never meant to be just information. It was meant to be an encounter that transforms our lives. ✨

📖 God's Word is living, active, and powerful. It reveals His promises, His character, and His heart for us. It leads us into truth, freedom, and a deeper relationship with Him. 🙌

💡 But if we don't learn how to truly engage with Scripture, the words can simply pass by us without changing us. Instead of experiencing transformation, we settle for information.

❤️‍🩹 God's desire is not for us to merely know His Word, but to encounter it, live it, and allow it to shape every part of our lives.

🌿 We were created to live out the pages of the Bible every day. His story is unfolding through us, and His Word continues to come alive as we walk with Him. What we read in Scripture isn't just history. It's an invitation into a living relationship with God here and now. ✝️✨

🕊️ True freedom comes when God's Word moves from our minds into our hearts and becomes the reality we live.

✨ Healthy boundaries are more than walls. They're God-given guidelines that create safety, respect, and freedom in relationships. ✨

🚧 Boundaries are visible or invisible fences that define ownership, protect our rights, and help determine what is and isn't acceptable in a given situation.

💭 The way we see and apply boundaries is often influenced by the wounds and trauma we've carried. That's why healing matters.

🤝 Healthy boundaries say: "I belong to me, and you belong to you." They are not about control or separation. They are about protecting what God has entrusted to us, including our hearts, minds, bodies, and spiritual well-being. ❤️🧠🙏

🛡️ Boundaries empower us to protect ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually from harmful intrusion while creating space for mutual respect, consideration, protection, and safety in every relationship.

🌿 When boundaries are understood and practiced in a healthy way, they become a pathway to healing, connection, and freedom.

📢 PROGRAMMING NOTE: There will be no live Compelled Podcast this week. We’ll return LIVE on Monday, September 7, at 9:00 AM PST | 12:00 PM EST with “Mother and Father Wounds.”

In our last Compelled Podcast, we taught a class and worked through a guided healing project together.

Trauma doesn’t stay neatly in the past. It can create fragmentation that carries an old survival story into present relationships and distorts the way we connect.

When our original needs for love, value, acceptance, safety, belonging, and identity are not established through healthy bonding—and we don’t learn how to connect those needs to Kingdom resources—we can begin asking relationships to carry needs they were never designed to fulfill.

Because we are created to bond, those connections can become incredibly powerful. Our emotions, our bodies, and our bonding chemistry can all reinforce attachment, especially when another person becomes connected to something we deeply need to feel.

This is how bonding can become bo***ge.

In Episode 32 of Compelled Podcast, we’re looking at how fragmentation happens, how it shapes human bonding, how trauma bonds form, how to recognize when survival has taken over the purpose of relationship, and how healing restores us to a healthier order of connection.

Healing doesn’t mean we stop bonding. It means people are no longer required to become our source of life.

WE’LL BE BACK NEXT WEEK!
Join us LIVE on Monday, September 7, at 9:00 AM PST | 12:00 PM EST for our next Head to Heart teaching:

MOTHER AND FATHER WOUNDS

We’ll begin looking at how our earliest relationships shaped what we learned about love, safety, belonging, value, and identity—and how God brings healing to the places where those stories began.
We hope you’ll join us next Monday!

✨️ True safety isn't found in controlling people. It's found in surrendering control to Jesus.✨️

🛡️ Many of us build boundaries around managing others' behavior, hoping it will keep us safe. But people, even the ones we love and trust, can let us down. 💔 A boundary system based on controlling our external world will always leave us vulnerable.

❤️‍🩹 Real safety comes from within. It comes from understanding how God designed us and creating an internal habitat of safety where Jesus is our protector, our gatekeeper, and our source of security. 🚪 ✝️

🌿 When He is in control, we can experience boundaries built on truth, peace, and lasting freedom.

Trauma doesn’t only change how we feel—it can change who we believe we need to become in order to survive.

We learn to adapt. We become strong, helpful, pleasing, invisible, successful, spiritual, controlling, rescuing, or whatever the moment seems to require. What began as a way to survive can eventually become a costume we no longer know how to take off.

In The Costumes of Survival, we explore how these survival identities form, why we can move between different roles in different relationships, and how the very strategies that once protected us can eventually limit our freedom, our choices, and our ability to live from our authentic God-given identity.

The protector can become the prison—but the costume is not who you are.

God’s design for you existed before survival ever told you who you needed to become.

Do you know….. you can live a little bit of heaven on earth? ❤

We get to choose who we’ll serve. Although Christians physically live in this world, their ultimate identity, loyalty, and citizenship belongs to Christ and heaven..... as legal citizens of Heaven!

Jesus’ wish… is that none would perish. Lord, please open their eyes… pull back the vail…... let them see You..... let them experience You for who You really are. Thank you... love you Lord!

"Our citizenship is in heaven."
(Philippians 3:20)

"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world."…….
(John 17:14–16)

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
(Romans 12:2)

Come quickly Lord…. please come quickly! 🙏🏻

What happens when the lie feels true—and the truth feels unbelievable?

Our lived experiences shape what we believe, and what we believe shapes how we live. We absorb what people tell us, what culture teaches us, and what pain seems to prove. Over time, lies can become so deeply reinforced that they no longer feel like lies. They feel like the stone-cold, absolute truth.

These are not simply negative thoughts, moral failures, or random spiritual attacks. They are subtle lies that distort our identity, steal our hope and peace, drive our nervous system, and hold us hostage to shame and fear.

Then we place intellectual truth on top of a deeply lived lie—and wonder why nothing changes.

Truth cannot transform us while it remains only information. We must surrender what we have believed, receive the power to accept what is true, and allow the Holy Spirit to reprogram us from the inside out.

Does that sound unbelievable? Well, that's quite frankly the whole struggle!

EPISODE 31: THE COSTUMES OF SURVIVAL
TODAY AT 9:00 AM PST | 12 PM EST

What if some of what you call your personality is actually who survival assigned you to become?

The strong one. The rescuer. The pleaser. The performer. The victim. The invisible one. The one who never needs anyone.

We develop roles around what we believe we must become to stay safe, connected, accepted, valued, or loved. We wear them long enough that eventually the costume can feel more familiar than the person underneath it.

And every costume comes with an assignment.

The strong one cannot be weak.
The rescuer has to be needed.
The pleaser cannot disappoint.
The performer has to keep producing.
The invisible one cannot risk being seen.

What once helped us survive can eventually begin governing how we live, what we choose, and even who we believe ourselves to be.

But authentic identity does not come from survival’s cruel assignment. It comes from Kingdom influence and governance.

We were never created to be governed by fear, wounds, shame, rejection, unmet needs, or the demands of a protective role. We were created to receive our identity from God and live from the truth, love, power, freedom, and belonging available through His Kingdom.

Join us for Episode 31 of the Compelled Podcast: The Costumes of Survival, as we uncover how survival creates counterfeit identities, how those identities can begin diminishing our freedom to choose, and how God begins recovering the person He actually created us to be.
