Celebrate Recovery Tekoa

Celebrate Recovery Tekoa Celebrate Recovery - Wednesdays 6 - 9 PM - Fellowship Dinner is at 6 pm, Followed by Large & Small Group.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY is a Christ-centered recovery program from our hurts, habits and hang-ups. Based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory, it is a safe place of belonging for anyone who has struggled, or still struggles with drugs, alcohol, codependency, gambling, po*******hy, food and other life-controlling habits, as well as those seeking support and recovery from divorce, loss, domestic violence or sexual abuse. In other words, CELEBRATE RECOVERY is for EVERYONE...

I know about addiction far too well for it has impacted my life and that of my family. I feel outrage when people say things like "How could anyone mess up the perfect life over alcohol or drugs?" or "If you want help you should just ask" or "We've already been down this road before and that it didn't work last time"… Addiction is an all-consuming obsession that becomes all an addict can think about. But it isn’t hopeless. Millions of people who’ve struggled with addictions HAVE recovered! A study from the Recovery Research Institute found that about 22.3 million Americans—more than 9% of adults—are living in recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD). A 2020 CDC study indicates 3 out of 4 people who experience addiction eventually recover. In 2023 SAMHSA reported that 70% of people who received treatment for substance use disorders demonstrated better quality of life and improved function within one year. No one wakes up one day and says, “I want to be an alcoholic, he**in, co***ne, or m**h addict for the rest of my life.” So can you pray with me for addiction recovery for all that are still struggling? Can you please try to believe that addiction recovery is possible?

There's personal reasons that I’m requesting people to put this message on their status. Can you think of someone you love who has had an addiction or who is trying to fight this battle, whether winning or losing? I hope to see future efforts towards promoting and providing treatment for individuals struggling with a substance use disorder & I hope to see this status on many walls. I prefer if you copy & paste rather than share, but spreading the word that addicted people DO recovery is what’s important to me. When someone is saved from an overdose, it’s possible, even probable, that someone just kept a person alive until that person wants to live. Millions of addicted people have recovered and gone on to live productive and happy lives.

Addiction is not hopeless.
Addicts DO recover.
