It is with deep and profound sorrow that I inform you of the passing of Mrs Sylvia Freyer, the founder of the JYEP Bergen County. Along with her husband, Carl, OB"M, they envisioned a Hebrew School that children enjoyed attending and families felt at home. It offered leadership opportunities to thousands of teens in Bergen County and gave a Jewish foundation to tens of thousands of children and their families. She was a dynamic power house who was not only legendary in her philanthropy, but was a model of how one should spend their days in service to their nation and community. Personally, she was a good friend of mine for 38 years and I will miss her profoundly. May she rest in peace and may her daughters, Louisa and Maura, find comfort in her love and the life she led. May her memory be a blessing for us all. Debby
